  • Oh it mixes really well! You should try plain cream cheese (Frischkäse) with a chocolate spread of your choice. Mix it a bit on a slice of bread.Milka even sold that premixed for a while, but it wasn't as good as just doing it yourself.

  • Yeah, I recently got one, and it said made in Netherlands I think.

  • Mastodon: fediscience.org , that's for all kind of science. Sign-ups requirements are to give your ORCID (persistent identifier for scientist in case of name changes etc)

  • I feel you. I type in three languages, and Gboard is the only one able to handle that.I can't wait for the day when I can finally ditch it

  • How does the Finnish course compare to Duolingo?

  • Das habe ich auch explizit im Text erwähnt

  • If you check the FAQ, it specifies that it's sheered wool, as the sheep are not kept for meat or wool production but but for grassland maintenance. They caveat that males need to be culled as only one can live in a herd, otherwise sheep get culled once they become unable to feed by themselves. So the wool is a byproduct of sheep that would be kept anyway.

  • Paying people a livable wage (16€/h + bonuses according to the owner) has it's price.I rather buy one expensive, but ethical, durable, and European piece of clothing, than 5 or 10 fast fashion pieces that fall apart after the first wash.

  • Fair point, I meant parent -proof as in I can set it up on their computer and don't need to fiddle with the CLI every now and then to get it back up running. Basically set and forget.

Edit: Looks like Filen will no longer offer lifetime plans for the pro tiers.

  • That takes care of the storage aspect, but what about the software running locally? As far as I can see on the websites, they say that their services can be integrated into backup solutions, but they don't tell what software to use

  • Galler is amazing! The chocolate, but also their spreads. And it's fair trade

  • You joke, but dark "Esspapier" with "pencils" made out of some form of icing were a thing for a while. The pencils were a bit like crayons and writing sucked, but it did kinda work.

I just checked, you can get pens with food dye for decorating.

  • I'm not holding snow against them, but their pedestrian infrastructure. It's great for bikes, no doubt, but sidewalks are ridiculously narrow, are not cleared from snow, and in some areas don't even exist, so you have to walk on the bike path.Don't get me wrong, it's very possible to get around on foot, but walking longer distances does not seem to be part of the city planning. If the bike paths would be equally terrible, I wouldn't even complain, but streets and bike paths are both well maintained.

  • In general I'm surprised how pedestrian unfriendly Danish cities are given how much space bikes get. With the snow there recently was, bike lanes where free, while sidewalks where a mess.

  • Denmark has several exceptions from the Maastricht treaty, border controls being one of those. It's ridiculous and should finally stop

  • Better supported is a matter of definition I'd say. Sure, Mobilepay is better supported by stores, but Wero is already now supported by more countries.Wero is backed by a broad consortium of banks and aims to be a pan-european payment solution, while Mobilepay has been around for a while and seems to be content with staying mainly in the Nordics. Ideally Mobilepay would be compatible with Wero, but I feel that they are quite protective of their market share

  • Yeah, I'm aware, but I would hope for only needing one app across Europe, and not one for central Europe, one for northern Europe etc. Also easier for tourists, as you can only set up Mobilepay if you have a bank account in one of the supportes countries and if your Google store location is set to that country.
