  • I didn't feel it's such a dire situation. I'm curious what MS software is still not ported? I'd assume it's more obscure administrative or programming stuff? I thought all of office, etc is ported. The x86 emulation seems good enough for any other stuff where max performance isn't needed. I think AI is the main workload they are targeting here which I'm pretty sure would work great. But yeah maybe some 3d programs haven't been ported to arm yet.

  • Burning coal puts more nuclear waste into the atmosphere than nuclear does. Nuclear causes less deaths than pretty much all power sources, even some green ones.

    Until coal and gas have been done away with completely, nuclear is a better option .

  • As a 20 year smoker who quit, I agree with @hzl@piefed.blahaj.zone . The only thing it gives you is relief from the craving of the addiction that it causes itself. As for how people start, they start when they are kids trying to look cool in front of other kids. No one starts smoking because they enjoy it, it's disgusting. They start "enjoying" it more the more addicted they get, and it doesn't take long.
