  • I think that's a restore - source is a file, destination is the local disk.

Used to use Ghost all the time for imaging new PCs back in the early 2000s. That's likely what's happening here.

  • How did the Paterson's only get one star? I think they're probably my favourite. I'd normally buy the clotted cream version though, which wasn't tested.

  • That's a mechanical keyboard, so you should be able to map the missing keys to wherever you like.

Failing that, PrtScr is probably on Fn+P, and apostrophes will be Alt Gr+{, Alt Gr+[ or Shift+?. The first two look like they may be accent dead keys, so try Shift+? first, or follow them with a space.

  • They got through the semis, which I was surprised about. The song was better than some in that batch, but my favourite (Estonia) failed to make it through.

I keep seeing reports that they might boot Israel into Eurovision Asia. I have mixed feelings about that. Whilst they are technically off the European continent, they are more European than the list of countries competing in the first Eurovision Asia, and I'm not sure the participants of that will be keen on them either. You also then have to kick out or justify the inclusion of Azerbaijan etc, who have (as far as I know) done no wrong.

Hopefully they won't win. If they do I suspect they won't be allowed to host due to ongoing war. Will anyone want to host for them if that happens? Maybe the EBU will conveniently find evidence of vote manipulation and nullify the win (if they do, hopefully for everybody's sake they will find it before they announce the results) - they've already given them a formal warning about this. As you say; fucking nightmare.

  • Username checks out

  • Maybe 20 or 27, some of the 40s look familiar too.

How did they get up to 120??!

  • I've only ever owned electric mowers (actually, that shouldn't be plural - I've only ever owned one electric mower which I brought back in 2007 when I got a house with a garden). It isn't a battery one - I'm not sure they existed back then - but I will change it for one when I have to replace it as the cable's a bit annoying.

I'd actually rather leave the grass to grow but apparently it looks untidy.

  • Yeah, or there's something obviously broken but no obvious way to fix, or a spring pings off during disassembly and it isn't clear where it came from.

  • So many times I've taken things apart to "see what's wrong" to no avail.

  • I'm not sure if it works the same way, but Google Wallet uses a virtual card number as well as needing the phone unlocked. There a layer of obfuscation over using a contactless card, that I like.

  • Yes.

  • Sorry if I came across like that (I still think 3½ jobs is too many just for a roof and food, but maybe that's normal for America - for a European, it sounds insane). That's a shitty situation to be in and I feel for you. The US sucks right now, unfortunately the only two options are to move to a country (or at least state - seriously, what sort of law is that? I sort of understand where it could come from but it makes no sense) which doesn't persecute trans people, or ride it out and hope the next administration reverses all the terrible things that lunatic has done. The first is expensive and the second isn't great either. I hope your situation improves.

  • Three and a half jobs... Obviously I don't know the full situation but you must be living well outside your means. Whatever money sinks you have, get rid of them if you can. Nobody should need to work three or more jobs. I'd argue nobody even needs to work two jobs but sometimes it's unavoidable or one is a personal project which wouldn't be possible without income from the other.

Sort your finances out so you can work less and you'll be happier.

  • Trigger's broom.

  • There are a few petrol shortages in the UK I believe, but that's mostly people panic buying. I have an EV so doesn't affect me!

  • Thanks, I don't think there was a link in the article. I'll edit it into the description.

  • With my own money, it would have been some ZX Spectrum budget title. I clearly remember Fantasy World Dizzy being mine and I think I bought it with my own money rather than it being purchased for me, so I'm going to go with that.
