  • Sadly not as good as the original.

  • Apparently he's an author, but yeah, mostly famous for his internet presence.

  • I wonder what ruleset they'll use, given that the different D&D editions are firmly embedded in the Forgotten Realms lore and metaphysics. The original BG1+2 used 2e which is ancient and deeply flawed so I doubt they'll stick with it, but a lot of the rule changes on the road to 5e (especially to magic) are tied to in-universe events that wouldn't have happened yet.

  • I remember a story going around during his first term where an ex-employee talked about the difficulty of getting Trump to sign off on deals his underlings had negotiated for him. He had a habit of reneging at the last second for petty reasons (sound familiar?), so they'd developed a trick to get him to cooperate.

The trick was that the Trump employees would come to an agreement with the other party as normal, but when bringing the deal to Trump they'd state terms that were much more favorable to the other party and let Trump 'negotiate' it down to what was already agreed on.

They did this because even if a deal greatly favored Trump, he was liable to torpedo the entire thing if he didn't feel like he personally 'won' negotiations. The charade let him think he was responsible for squeezing more money out of the other party, and with his ego sated he would happily sign whatever was agreed upon.

  • They're certainly useful for building up the infrastructure for future oppression without the rest of the country freaking out, though. It's all so painfully obvious and mostly being done in the open, but apparently most Americans slept through their history classes.

  • This is going to be yet another case where mass graves are found nearby decades after it's shut down and people pretend to be shocked.

  • And when combined with anxiety you have the constant Spectre of a Meltdown.

  • or there's something stressful going on in the world

That's my secret, Cap. I'm always stressed.

  • The second image in your post seems broken.

  • Normally I'd never trust YouTube comments, but a channel where a wealthy scientist does all the weird experiments they've always wanted to do attracts a lot of other scientists. Their concerns make sense, too - the equipment he bought isn't rated for the use he's putting it to, let alone his future plans to make liquid helium.

And pressure vessels are one of those things where you want to be absolutely certain it's safe. You don't fuck around with Delta P - failure of a pressurized (or depressurized in this case) vessel is the kind of thing that registers on local seismographs.

  • Wasps are bros as much as spiders are.

Just not bros to spiders. What parasitoid wasps do to spiders/other victims is nearly as nightmarish as what spiders do to their prey. Definitely a match made in hell.

  • On the other hand, without Molyneux coming up with a constant stream of weird ideas and forcing the devs to implement them, chances are it'll lack that magical whimsy that made the originals so beloved despite their many flaws.

It's hard to remember after his decades of repeated failures, but Molyneux actually did make good games at one point. It just required someone above him to overrule his dumb ideas and limit the scope creep when it came time to ship.

(Also all the talented people under him who did all the real work.)

  • He's very iffy when it comes to safety, too. The comments section for his video about making his own liquid nitrogen is littered with experts telling him how insanely unsafe his setup is and how he's basically built and installed a ticking time bomb in his workshop.

  • Delayed for marketing reasons rather than quality concerns, supposedly. I still welcome the time for extra polish.

  • AI can make mistakes, so double-check responses

I'm sure it's fine. After all, the AI triple-checked its answer!
