  • That command terminal thing is so real. When it works, its magic. When it doesn't work, you just messed with forces you didn't understand and are already forced into chancing a repair and maybe make the problem worst or getting back to the original one! (Very discouraging if you are just trying to get work done, especially for non techies)

I think the problem with linux users is that they can't imagine that the appeal for most people who want to use an OS is to make something happen in the "real world" with a top level piece of software, like you want to draw a cute cat on the screen not learn how the compositor draws the pixels to multiple different screen resolutions WHEN the monitor model is a use case supported scenario.

The objective is to use the computer as a tool NOW for a SPECIFIC thing without diving into the inner guts of the machine for some people, and that's honestly fine.

  • Poownd obviously

  • You can't reason with people who don't have the same definitions as you do because reasoning takes a common body of knowledge.

And people who are the propagandized have an instinctual dislike towards people not sharing their same corpus of knowledge: you have to use their own language or chip away the wrong definitions/axioms one by one until the new sets become reliable enough to start building something worthwhile.

Note that this works the inverse way too, which is why we are in such a mess all around the world.

Lif iz hard wif stoopid ppl

  • Right? It's like they either been living in cramped farm factories staring at a screen or been working in a soviet gulag since age 8 from what you read online

  • Yeah he was the shit, guy commented on EVERYTHING.

Guess he believed in this place of slop and debauchery. I like to believe that someday his silky wet squid fingers will grace us once again.

  • Oh my god

It was the garf all along

  • Do share the nasty riff OP

  • Damn I was going to blame the co2 in the atmosphere

  • Its also that it takes time building an audience, and some devs are awful at setting up their store page.

  • If I were rich id get way too much into magic the gathering

  • Hear hear! I hope she gets to be the next nominate.

  • Yeah the news are triggering the worst instincts of some users who tend to lash out alot, and some trolls might be taking advantage of that

  • Yeah it kinda does, WHEN YOUR INSTANCE IS ALWAYS DOWN AAAARGH

  • I play dnd to set up a good torturous moral hypothesis to observe how my players react :P

And testing out fun game concepts on a free audience for my game dev while getting paid in snacks and grass :D

  • Be the change you want to see, complain all you want but all you are doing is setting yourself and the world around you for more complaining.

(Spoilers for disco elysium) You remind me of that disco elysium communist ending, where all the comrades end up wasting their lives complaining about the bourgeoisie without actually doing anything about it, getting drunk every night each taking turns judging which sickly misery inducing rant was the most powerful.

  • I really liked this episode. Next gen was always my favourite series, it always presented calamities and tragedies as problems to be solved.

It conveyed the analysis in a level headed way that removed (attempted really would be the right word) either blame or bias towards either party involved, something depicted as necessary to consider the right or appropriate tools for the situation.

It always got me through my toughest times, and yes I should read more XD

  • It would be best to focus on policies and ideas rather than ideological alignement. The moment someone says "thats socialist!" "That's right wing!" Is the moment where no meaningful action is taken, where discussion ends since you suddenly decide that your alignment is irreconcilable and makes no outcome possible.

  • Live in the present, take time to analyse things. It's ok if you are slower at some things. Every time spent reflecting will enrich your next reflection and bring more peace and comprehension. Be patient. Try new things. Meet people. Hold your own opinions to scrutiny, back them up with evidence. Do the work. Trust the right people. Don't give in to fear or anger. Allow yourself to feel sad. Analyse your frustration and feelings. Talk to yourself if no one is listening. Keep some of your hobbies especially if it's skill dependant going.

    Also ffs don't start smoking.
