These guys do give info on strategy, they’re not exactly secret about it. GoT season 8 plays like an authors notebook. There are sketched ideas, completed scenes, and no transition work or idea completion beyond the half-assed.
The writers on GoT finished nothing. They appear to have set an authors idea notebook as a script instead of writing a complete script.
They could’ve done better. Ho’Dor for example. His full story arc is not in the book. Clearly, Martin had that scene fully written out in his little notebook. The writers worked that well and did it right. You could feel it. I’m getting chills all over again just thinking about it.
Those same writers got lazy in 8. It’s well documented they were trying to rush off to the next job. The good news is, they were fired from that next job for the terrible job they did on 8.
