  • When marketing is directed towards normies and not nerds.

  • My domain's registrar is namecheap, i tried their email on a whim, i've had no complaints in the 7ish years I've been using them. Privateemail.com

  • Domain is about $15/yr

    Email for my domain is $20/yr

    VPN is about $50/yr

  • I don't want MMOs.

  • Same, also depends on what I'm going to change. If I'm doing any heavy editing, vi/vim. Something small and fast? Also usually vi/vim, but sometimes nano as it's preinstalled unlike vim nowdays.

  • Which is why they litterally inject it into our veins all the time.

  • I probably use my leaf blower on my garage more than my lawn. Just blow the dust out.

  • The wife's titties enhace the quality of the sleep.

  • All in one's advantage is fewer points of failure, lower power consumption, and ease of troubleshooting. Disadvantage, something breaks, everything's down.

    Duo setup: more power, more points of failure, typically they'll end up intertwined and dependant on each other, so if one goes down they're both likely down. You usually need more hardware for High Availability.

    I'd go either all in one with the best hardware, or go with what the other commentor said and have one be prod and the other dev.

  • In my case I had rounded off the bolt head in a few spots with an open ended wrench after a few tries not realizing it was going to be stubborn. Had a hard time getting the correct sized close ended wrench on with the warped sides. Went up a size by switching to metric and getting a decently good grip. That stripped it further, but warped the head even more so I was able to get the right sized closed wrench on it with a few "gentle" taps of a hammer. It juuuuuuust barely came off. The head was mutilated to hell.

    I've seen people use a grinder to grind down the sides of the head and use a smaller wrench to try again. Or cut a plus in the head and try a screwdriver. But that's assuming the head hasn't popped off yet.

  • Had an oil drain plug bolt overtightened so hard once I stripped that sucker getting it out so bad I had to buy a replacement. The cost of just quick taking it in because I didn't have the time cost me an extra $20. Never again.

  • Mostly because it's starting with dob, what happens when they require a phone number, address, credit card, or social security number? Faker can fake all those in that library. But you're absolutely right, for one dob it is massive overkill.

    Also, I'm do test automation for my career. Litterally use faker daily for generating test data. Defaulting to it is natural and familiar. Most use what they're familiar with, rarely the best solution for a task.

  • there's a pretty simple solution IMHO. The faker python library is awesome at generating test data. Return a random dob everytime a site requests it.

    import faker
    faker fake
    return fake.date_of_birth(minimum_age=18, maximum_age=90)

  • Sounds like a rip off of the IASIP bang maid episode.

  • I'm doing a project of my own on an eink display. Like the other poster mentioned it's an esp32 but it has a full dev kit. It's called the paper v1 from m5stack. The esp32 has wifi, bluetooth, the eink display is touch enabled, it is a fully enclosed little device with a battery so it doesn't need to be plugged in constantly. Possibly cheaper option than a pi+eink like you're looking at, and likely uses a lot less electricity. I've seen videos of people who upgrade the battery in theirs. I'm not sure those applications work on it, but it's possible something similar is built for the esp32.

  • Because then you unite the two groups in the US. Revolts and revolutions happen and are a real threat if the citizens unite. Keep us separated and fighting amongst ourselves and the status quo with them is power stays the same.

  • He forgot he's Don Trump not Don Quixote

  • It's that way by design. They probably had to undo the default encryption so other programs cough cough copilot/recall can read the passwords.
