  • Yep. I archive channels I like locally.

  • "Kraneberger" - "Château Tap" in German.

  • I have never understood the concept of paying loads of money to go somewhere chock full of other people on my precious spare time. So, they want no tourists? Alright then, I'll support their cause by continuing with my policy of spending my vacations around home.

  • The only low nose electric station wagon you can buy today is a Porsche Taycan

    No, id7? MG5?

  • I'd assume that's exactly what he meant. Europe comes with a set of ideals and it seems that Canada by and large aligns with those closer than ex Soviet block countries, even after all the years.

  • If you just want a local network with DHCP and WPA to do whatever, no uplink is necessary.

  • "Rapid" in Germany would mean "planned for finishing within 10 years, actually done in 20 for double the price and with half of the capacity".

  • Dude found something he could put a price on and announced it. Now he'll wait for offers.

  • You're looking at this wrong. Not every country has laws that allow the cancellation of work contracts without any reason at any time. Often you need a reason and tracking people walking about and spending time not at their desk or workbench delivers such a reason.

  • Doesn't matter, you're still trackable across APs. Yes, randomized MACs, I'll just correlate that with the MAC that showed up around the AP near the door when you clocked in and around the AP near your desk when you logged in. Good enough for the day.

Don't think there aren't employers that do this.

  • Another DNS solution that is located in the EU (well, surrounded by the EU) is Quad9.

  • ...and require electricians to not think of themselves as IT experts that should have any say in configuring anything beyond maybe actual modbus on two wires.

  • Yes. You explain it as if what I have described were an intellectual problem. It is not, so the support you tried is not helpful in my case. But this is public, so, maybe for someone else.

  • I can't cook. That doesn't mean that I am not able to when given time and resources and a receipe, that means that the amount of things I can fight through in a day is limited and I need to use that budget wisely, earning money, caring for my dog and seeing to it that my house and garden don't fall apart.

That means, I can't cook, even when it looks like I'm just sitting there, staring into the blue. "You just have to...", no, you just have to, and the what you have to is "shut up" and "stop using yourself as a reference for everything".

  • It's just interaction bait.

  • Sirius XM had two satellites above the continental US called Rock and Roll. Maybe dedicated antennas for either and whatever someone has decided to measure or experiment with? Would match the format of typical Sirius antennas.

  • They were, now they aren't.

  • Driving a large Audi SUV on the equivalent of two liters of Diesel / 100km which at least in summer I can source directly from my roof is pretty neat though.

I actually like that part the most - arrive somewhere, toss a plug in in, done. No detours for getting gas anymore.

Oh, and because the AC compressor is electric of course, the car can be pre-cooled remotely in summer, that's also pretty much an EV only feature.

These are the parts that make it a different thing the most for me, plus, absolutely no downsides to driving short distances anymore, no oil thinning, no clogged EGR, hook the trailer up, go 800m up the trail to get firewood, go back, no harm done.

  • Nobody on the street seemed to like the dead and brown lawn the first year

Sounds like a whole bunch of not-their-business.
