  • Not everyone can have the luxury of working from home. Most knowledge workers can. Cooks and waitstaff, teachers, mechanics, etc. have to work at the "office".

  • What? No love for the Pern books by Anne McCaffrey? I love em. Gotta love genetically engineered dragons.

  • Currently watching Farscape. Such a bonkers show. About to finish second season.

  • Just finished reading an older series: Nine Princes in Amber. Doesn't age as well as I'd like.

  • And the developer is quick to add features. Highly recommended for desktop.

  • I love the Old Man's War series.

  • I'm pretty sure that waze doesn't work in Android Auto.

Looks like I'm wrong. I just saw some articles from 2022 about getting it working. Thanks!

  • The article is very good, and explains some things about federation and the difference between lemmy and kbin. All in all a good introduction.

  • And tits shouldn't even be on the list.

    Mmmm tater-tits

  • What about a company that makes a bunch of products, and sets up a Lemmy instance with a community for each. The company pays attention to problems customers have and use their instance to improve the products. It's a corporate Lemmy instance, but I don't think you should defederate from it.

  • Wefwef works great on Android. Supposedly it looks like Apollo, but so what?

  • Try wefwef.app. It's a PWA, and you can easily set it as an icon on your home screen. Supposedly it looks a lot like the big iOS app (apollo?) that started the reddit blackout. Has nice swiping gestures. Works an absolute treat.

  • I like playing Monument Valley. The twists are fun!

  • I loved using Nova, but they got bought by a data mining company. I'm using Active Launcher now.
