  • CMS for managing borrowed items with family and friends

  • You could probably use Homebox for this use case. It allows for locations to be configured, attach receipts/maintenance reminders/manuals, etc. Also has OIDC, invite links, and more. I use it to maintain my home inventory of stuff. I think you can also have separate inventories per person/group as well as shared ones within the same instance.

  • I’ve not used it myself but cal.com could work for you as well. Their docs provide instructions on how to self host.

    ETA: I think I actually tried this out on the individual tier for my wife, she was thinking of doing some personal training / life coaching and using this to provide appointments. I thought it was flexible enough but didn’t give it an earnest try.

  • I do the same but unfortunately this usually doesn’t cover stuff like gelatin, or straight up meat, insect glazes, etc. so I’ve been caught out a few times from this.

  • Sorry to hear that! I have like one vegan friend and they live far away so I only see them like once a year if I’m lucky. Vegan meet ups are sparse and it’s sometimes hard to meet someone who has the same values and interests.

  • Why do so many hand dryers not dry hands? Am I doing something wrong?

  • Someone else linked this in their comment but the air in those dryers has to come from somewhere… if it’s coming from the bathroom, where there are no lids on the toilets and aerosolized poop particles are sucked into the dryer and right onto your hands, I would lean towards that being unsanitary. This is also why it’s important to put the lid down before you flush at home, to avoid all those particles floating around onto anything exposed in your bathroom, like maybe your toothbrush or towels.

  • I chose Filen over proton drive, definitely have had a better experience with file syncing and desktop apps. They can also backup your mobile device’s photos.

  • I think everything is relative to oneself. Certain humans to me matter more than other humans, so certain animals/non-humans matter more than others. My bunny matters more than a lot of humans to me.. and a decent amount of animals matter more to me than most humans. So I guess it depends on how close they are to you and what you value.

    Tbf I think a being’s “value” and whether they matter differently than others to you are separate things.

  • I’ve been daily driving Debian testing + Wayland for a year or so though I have AMD. Pretty solid, gaming has worked wonderfully and generally do a bit of development and docker stuff too.
