  • yeah, it's an it in my opinion. People have called objects he or she forever. Like sailors calling their ship a lady but they also carved women's shapes into it. It's was also something that was critical to their survival and it makes sense in that way.

I was a professional sailor at one time in my life. Anthropomorphism is a tricky situation. AI isn't worthy of this IMO because it could cause even more damage to people who don't understand what it is. It's not a person and it's not a real personality. It's a mirage of overlapping tricks. It's a super fancy search engine.

And the fact that the companies that own it and their manipulative input means it's not honest and it's not pure in its intentions.

  • this is a SOCIAL NETWORK not an AI platform

  • in the early 2000s when fingerprint readers started getting popular, my coworker and I decided to test them...

super glue fumes, printer toner and scotch tape. that's all that was ever needed to bypass the reader once you could isolate a good spot where someones finger left a good mark. like from drinking glass or a door knob

I'm not sure if I'd ever trust a fingerprint to fully be a secure passkey

  • who's going to use this when it makes the battery life almost nothing?

my ear buds are good enough but still only last for so long just listening over Bluetooth. two way conversation makes them drain even faster... two way plus video? come on!

  • 😂

  • it can choose the name but they don't need to give it a gender when referring to it

  • it upsets me deeply that they gender the bot

  • Ha ha! You dumb bastard. It's not a schooner, its a sailboat.

  • of course they won't express their true feelings for fear of government retaliation but the dude with the glasses and curls knows what's up

  • you can always add repositories that push updated software, or side load it as a .deb from a download

you can also compile it from source yourself

  • thanks, good write up

  • the great sloths are who we can thank, and some of the massive holes they dug for burrowing are still around

  • the planes aren't going to be much good if there's nukes blasting EMP and shockwaves near metropolitan areas

  • for some reason this gives me the vibes to get a blaster and a belly full of coffee and go looking for some Darth Tuvix
