  • The majority of the UK had guns readily available up until the great war.

[sic] there were no firearm restrictions in effect, but less than 1% of the population had firearms. The Firearms act of 1920 disarmed this percentage over fears of surges in crime, as well as worries that the working class would get too unruly

  • So much for this golden future...

  • "If I'm awake everyone else should be awake to witness it." ~ asshole on a motorbike, overrevving on a 30mph road at 5 am

  • why thank you

  • If your Magazine can help me with this should I be very grateful.

Capitilized noun and conditional style syntax with subject-verb inversion after the main clause

  • I think when first contact happens between loved ones, a common reality is unconsciously agreed upon where the family comes together under the bodies they inhabited at the time they were all together.

Since the long deceased ones have likely watched the life of the newly deceased with interest, I think that initial reality is then slowly pushed away and the (grown) children take on their more mature forms and the grand parents take on their younger forms, and they all walk away from the meeting as equals

    That's how I'd do it

  • It's not, that's literally their game. They take over the utility, ask for a grant from the government to improve their services, use the money to increase the stock, and then sell the company on to new investors. Rinse and Repeat

  • We were a major financial contributor to the EU. We also laundered a lot of money to them that we would then get back as EU benefits, it was a weird financial win-win situation for us and the EU

I think we would be welcomed back, but I do expect some concessions to be pulled as punishment and as a warning to other countries with out of control loudspeaker groups signalling to come out

  • thats amazing!

  • Builders robbed me of sleep and messed up my morning and work schedule, so had to play catchup yesterday and there will be a storm on Monday workwise. Weird weather has dampened my mood and energy, so my weight is down overall but has yoyo'd a bit

Overall okay, I suspect just lacking some sleep and haven't socially recharged. Howzit with you?

  • "If I can't dance, I don't want to be in your revolution"

    Yeah, I like her

  • (This is a really cool thread OP, thanks for this - favourited!)

  • I do sometimes weirdly look at mormon's or other religious groups who practice abstinence and think they might have the right idea.

Porn addiction is real, and it does set unrealistic standards on what men think women are, and debases them implicitly.

I've been touch free for about 2 months now, and my intimacy and satisfaction during sex with my partner has improved dramatically. She's stunning, but I had to literally quit porn to not take her for granted.

  • The backsliding can only go so far until consumers get fed up and invent their own solutions.

Batteries aren't hard tech. Open up any bike battery case and it's just a string of 18650 cells strung together with a BMS chip. All highly replaceable.

  • Don’t use set -euo pipefail. It will only cause more issues down the road.

Wait why? It's dangerous if the script silently fails surely.

    Also a cool tip

I love my little terraced house, but my little shed can't hold that much and I want a workshop for my electronics
