  • Just waiting for a Jewish legal group to sue for breaching freedom of religion protections. The life of the mother takes precedence.

An unborn fetus in Jewish law is not considered a person until it has been born. The fetus is regarded as a part of the mother’s body and not a separate being until it begins to egress from the womb during parturition (childbirth). In fact, until 40 days after conception, the fertilized egg is considered as “mere fluid.” These facts form the basis for the Jewish legal view on abortion.

  • This announcement hit harder than I expected considering I haven’t played since the first season of Beyond Light. Might have to log in in June for one last hit.

  • Existing Lifetime Plex Pass memberships are unaffected by the upcoming price hike; if you already locked in your sub at a lower rate, you won’t have to pay any additional fees, and your service isn’t changing

    For now.

It’d be mildly annoying to have to switch to Jellyfin, or some other option, but I have no qualms ditching Plex if it turns to crap. Don’t ever give into the sink cost fallacy.

  • Yeah reading his history of activism and standing up for human rights is inspiring.

  • He deliberately wore 2 items of clothing that he knew would lead to his arrest. He may not have literally arrested himself, but he definitely set himself up to be arrested.

  • Spot on. I tried to quit smoking once by switching to menthols, and telling myself that they’d be horrible enough to make me quit. It did not work. I just adjusted to the change and kept smoking for another two years.

  • For a headless server: Ubuntu. Solid, reliable and stable for many years.

For gaming: Pop OS looks promising now that cosmic has been released, however I’d probably stick with Fedora as it’s leading edge and has served me well so far.

  • Because they’re weak.

In all seriousness, income has stayed about the same in nominal terms, but the cost of living has gone way up even between millennials and gen z. So really income has gone down and booze is much more of a luxury.

  • Older (i.e. 2000s and early 2010s) hypnotic techno. I do 30 mins of deep breathing exercises 3 times a day, while listening to it, to try and maintain a sense of calm throughout the day.

Realise my music choice probably isn’t what most people would classify as “chill”. I mainly listen to electronic music so I find it easy to lose myself into the extremely repetitive percussion and melody.

  • It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness.

In the last 25 years I’ve hit rock bottom and also experienced the happiest moments of my life. Can’t sum it up any better than Dickens.

  • The article author seems to write this off as just another run of the mill sci-fi rpg, but I’m pretty excited for this. Peter F Hamilton is one of my favourite authors and he’s done the world building to support the narrative of the game.

Going to be reading his tie-in novel over the xmas break and it seems to have got decent reader reviews so long as you like his style of writing.

  • Ant Man is mostly unemployed by the time he becomes a superhero. That seems most relatable in these times.

  • That second sentence is a bald faced lie. I lost grub thanks to a failed update and then 2 days of my life trying to repair it.

  • I’m in this comic and don’t like it.

  • You must construct additional pylons.

    Words to live by.

  • Nazi era Germans could at least plead ignorance of genocide. In this day and age, with access to massive amounts of information, there’s no excuse. They’ve made a deliberate decision that they’re ok with ethnic cleansing.
