  • Imagine being this mad at someone who’s making an app without getting paid and doing it on their spare time. And the kicker is the dude’s a dev as well, so he of all people should know how it’s like to work on a project as a side hobby and a bunch of entitled people hate on it without really providing any constructive feedback.

  • Another reason I think is the safety inspection, since you generally don’t want non-road worthy cars going 60mph. And yes, I know some states don’t require inspections.

  • I too prefer reporting issues on testflight, but I’m guessing the devs can track reports on github better. I’m not sure how testflight feedback gets organized when devs receive them tbh.

  • All apps just pull content from lemmy. It’s absolutely a lemmy thing and Hot has been like that for a while. Top for the last 6 or 12 hours is a better “front page” feed for now until they improve Hot.

  • I've been providing feedback via testflight. Is reporting on github the preferred way?

  • I used Deezer for several years before they removed regional pricing. Sound quality was better than Spotify IMO, and I like their UI more. It's cleaner and less cluttered. The fact that you get lossless included by default now is definitely a plus too. You can also upload your own wav/mp3 files if you can't find it in their catalog. Never tried Tidal so I don't have an opinion about it.

  • Thanks for the update! The app coincidentally crashed a few minutes before you posted this update. lol

  • Any suggestions on where to start with troubleshooting an external hard drive that isn't being detected? For context, it's a very old 1TB HDD that is in its own case. I'm not really sure how I can open it because the case has no screws. It worked last week and suddenly stopped. Usually the led indicator blinks when I plug it into my laptop's usb port, but now it just stays the same color (meaning no activity).

  • Is it available on old.reddit? A lot of people here who refuse to give reddit traffic in the first place also prefer old.reddit and don’t want to use the new interface.

  • I didn’t worry. I just download Ram Booster to fix that.

  • Absolutely superior on desktop, especially when combined with RES. It has also been what older users who started out with old.reddit have been used to. New.reddit is like forcing a social media site format like twitter or instagram on a forum type of website like reddit. Imagine a vertical twitter-like feed on a desktop browser. Inefficient and lots of wasted space.

On the other hand, lemmy web apps like Alexandrite provide a modern look while at the same time maintain the efficiency of a forum-style site.

  • Any fresh water body to be honest. There’s just a ton more small dangerous things that can live in fresh water vs salt water.

  • Is that the reason the other guy is now a former coworker?

  • The unprecedented heat across the globe this summer perhaps?

  • I wasn't even aware the dealership I got my car from automatically reported to Carfax until I started receiving reminders for oil changes, inspections, and registration renewals. I just went ahead and created an account and it's great to have an automatic record there in case I lose my receipts.

  • I think they weren't implying it's the best option, just that it's the lesser evil. You can definitely go for some other foss options or a separate satnav entirely, but Apple Carplay works on most cars without requiring additional software or tools. Obviously OP will have to buy an iPhone.

  • I really thought I watched an unfinished version of this movie by mistake. That's how bad the CGI was. It doesn't help that the director defended the cgi by saying they did it on purpose because when Barry is moving fast, things will look "distorted" from his perspective. What a laughable excuse. I remember seeing all the very positive reviews from an advanced screening like a month before release. Makes me think all those reviewer testimonies were paid.

Bad CGI aside, the plot was ok but execution was terrible. They made multiverses and time traveling seem so mundane and the viewer doesn't really feel the weight or the implications of Barry's actions. The jokes fell flat for me too. As usual, it's always Batman who comes out as the best thing in these kinds of movies. Batfleck looked so bloated and weird though, and Affleck looked fine out of costume so I don't know what was going on there.

  • Just wanted to note that this happened in Malaysia, not Indonesia. I’m not arguing with you, just wanted to point it out.

  • AFAIK kbin doesn’t have an API yet, so a 3rd party app isn’t possible until that’s available.
