  • Monday morning musings

  • After finally getting my wrist looked at yesterday and a quick trip to the fracture clinic this morning, they're still not sure if I've broken anything. Need to go back for an MRI scan within the next two weeks. Joy.

    Also, been up since 4am with child #2. Roll on 4pm hometime, and possibly 5pm bedtime.

  • Does it / will it have mod tools available? The only way I've found so far to access the mod inbox, pin threads etc is through the Lemmy website

  • It probably helped that his bike is the same colour as mine and they're both mountain style. He wasn't very interested but we kept trying and it clicked.

    One friend suggested getting the cheapest, lightest, plastic balance bike and leaving it in the house for them to pick up as they want to - make it a toy rather than a milestone.

  • Finally made it to the minor injury unit for my wrist. Waiting for an x-ray now but the triage nurse thinks something might be broken. It's going to bugger work right up if I can't drive for a while...

  • Child #1 got a balance bike when he was two but didn't really get on with it until he was nearly three. Once he turned three he was unstoppable on it. Looking forward to getting him a pedal bike so we can go through the woods together.

  • Did you need to take it off for something specific? I've taken mine off probably twice in five years. My knuckles are quite large compared to my fingers so it's hard to take off but the ring isn't tight when on.

  • Oh how I miss quiet gaming time!

    This morning I was woken up by the gentle sounds of child #1 doing a jigsaw puzzle outside our bedroom door at 545. He'd nearly finished, so presumably he'd been there for five minutes or so before I noticed.

  • I would also recommend Bath. If you're there for longer than a day, a drive out to Bradford on Avon for a cream tea at the Bridge Tea Rooms is lovely, or Bristol harbourside if museums and little food popups are more your thing.
