  • This is the definition of "systemic rascism". These devices are the standard in hospitals and medical offices. They work optically, nobody bothered to check if the amount of melanin in skin affects them. Its likely that they were either tested entirely on light skinned people, or that the results for black test subjects were ignored or discarded as outliers. Nobody set out to make a device that might put black patients in danger, but nobody bothered to make sure it didn't.

  • You know we have this thing called IMDB. It could really fill in your gaps in this situation.

  • You see human beings have this problem, they tend to die without food or when forced to live out in the elements. And dont get me started on clothing and healthcare.

  • More about the fact that they hate Star Wars and are here in a star wars community just to complain about it.

  • Yeah I know, but the situation is absurd.

  • Just checking, because you're in a Star Wars community. If you've really soured so much on Star Wars it might be time to unsubscribe, unless you're seeking negativity for negativities sake.

  • Are you seeing someone about this?

  • That series is full of amazing monologues.

  • You could have my problem where my prescription costs $190 for 3 months with insurance and $40 for 3 months without.

  • Not the place.

  • They didn't make immich, they acquired it. They are currently funding development though.

  • Discovery and search are a clusterfuck mess on peertube.

  • I love that its still going and telling stories, but an incredibly grindy free to play game is a tough sell for a lot of people.

  • Imagine using non-profit funds for developing a browser to actually improve the browser.

  • Not retaining account information sounds like a feature to me.

  • There are lifepo4 batteries that are drop in replacements for SLA car batteries. But there's no guarantee that the more sophisticated circuitry in the UPS will accept it. (I'm not exactly sure what they're using to make it a drop in replacement.) I would look to see if others have succeeded online. That kind of swap is something people would be posting all over YouTube if it works.

  • And if that was the main concern we would be incentivizing people building out their own solar with battery setups, but the plebs paying less for energy isn't the goal.

I think the main thing you are missing about OPs post is that when it came to reducing costs for consumers, pollution, and greenhouse gasses, building out infrastructure for electric cars wasn't a priority and was vehemently fought. Now that its about making a bunch of billionaires 5% wealthier, there is nothing that will stop the build out. Energy infrastructure is now a major priority and this time at the expense of consumers.

  • This is typical. You need better line of sight.
