Canadian, sysadmin, trans rights are human rights, puncha-the-nazis, cats are pretty great, GNU Terry Pratchett.

  • I like to let my tomatoes vine and go crazy for the extra shade in the mornings. :) With trellises, they're super nice.

Humping out a 5 gallon bucket every couple days, though...

  • Tomatoes were already one of the best effort:reward things you could grow in a balcony garden, this makes it even better.

Ushering In a new era of seasonal veggies...

  • Some sugar to help swallow the pill, and then later...

  • Look on the bright side, the AMOC maybe slowing down by then and turn the place into a tundra!

  • Maybe it's worth thinking about why Russia's neighbours are so desperately eager to band together in mutual defense against them.

Glancing at a history book might help.

  • On the plus side, it'll buy us a little more time to deal with climate change. Hopefully.

  • This will end poorly.

  • This seems like propaganda to pit us against the strikers.

  • Interesting. Worrying, even.

  • This is new to me, I can't find a reference. Can you share?

  • That's totally a decent option. Unless you want the space under it for cars or something, of course.

  • You kinda answered your own questions there. You get a lift and a crane. Presumably whatever local company installed them would also repair them.

  • In fairness I tend to use stuff until the thrift store would reject it anyway....

  • Yeah, the usual way is glyphosate injection during the active growth phase. Glyphosate won't kill you but I still wouldn't want to consume it.

  • Not with knotweed. It can manifest above ground growth in a few different ways, it can form a moss like layer.

Pulling the shoots also leaves chunks of root in the ground, which will start new plants.

And good luck eating enough once it spreads.

You can control it if you catch it early by covering it with black tarp, but if you miss a bit, you wasted all the effort.

    Knotweed remediation is hard.

  • That does not kill them :(

  • I do wish they'd publish a proper apt repo instead of making me install the .deb everytime.

  • Big enough that a rift between the two is a big win for Russia. A chunk of both of our GDPs is a direct result of close cooperation and free trade. We are both poorer when Trump and Putin wreck our trade.

I would wager that the USA loses more if Canada goes away than it would be the other way around.

  • Do you mean to say that Camada is not a large economy?
