  • DVDs just aren't bigger than grapefruits.

  • I have the entire instance blocked in my client, so I can't even go searching for a thread for you. But if you don't, it should be incredibly easy to poke the hexbear, so to speak. Lemme grab you a link...

Here, this one should work. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_Uyghurs_in_China

Find an appropriate sublemmy on Hexbear and post this, ideally in a context that explicitly declares you oppose genocide. You'll get nothing but the following in your thread:

    1. Accusations that you are a "shitlib". Any attempt by you to find out what this word means will result in additional mockery.
    2. Denials of the Uyghur genocide.
    3. Adoration of the CCP, especially Xi Jinping (but Hexbear likes any authoritarian tyrant in China, so any CCP politician may end up adulated).
  • You thankfully appear to have not been exposed to a "proper" hexbear thread where all they can do to communicate is call you a shitlib for doing things like acknowledging genocide.

  • How bad are these that Hexbear didn't even make the list? Drilling through on the clickable version here makes it clear that the #1, poa.st, has the same basic content as Hexbear, but I'm assuming it's somehow way worse. Just imagine.

  • Stop linking xkcd without including the alt-text.

  • No-one is talking about "women bears". There are people talking about women and bears for sure, though.

  • Yog is so pro-Authoritarianism they might as well have a Hexbear account.

  • Yeah, I block anyone from Hexbear without even reading their comments.

  • Once again, the problem is that the banks aren't being taxed. The reason the billionaires don't pay taxes is that they buy everything with money they borrow from the banks.

  • This thread is a garbage fire - a bunch of people who didn't look anything up (or if they did, they cite no sources, so there's no evidence they did) spouting a bunch of mutually contradictory shit, all of it upvoted. I will mevwr understand why anyone engages with Lemmy this way.

Here is the list of US charges against Assange, from the actual paperwork charging him.

As you can see here, each of the first 17 charges has a maximum penalty of 10 years (not including fines).

Charge 18 is messier. Under USC 371 the max is 5 years. I believe USC 1030 is also capped at 5 years.

So roughly a 175 year sentence, at cap.

  • Year, not years: your 5 year old is 5 years old.

  • There are restrictions on everyone's ability to leave. I currently can't go 30 feet south, because I would trespass in my neighbor's home. These people can't leave north.

  • Or to North Dakota, which might be a good deal more entertaining.

  • I believe the leftist argument you're up against is that no one should have guns, including the police.

Implementing this is left as an exercise for the reader.
