I joined Lemmy back in 2020 and have been using it as @qaz@lemmy.ml until somewhere in 2023 when I switched to lemmy.world. I'm interested in systemd/Linux, FOSS, and Selfhosting.

  • I've been looking through the previous video and while it's clear that AI is used (like in the transition of the shed). The rest seems to be too consistent to be entirely AI generated, details of objects remain consistent across shots. The short time-lapse also seems hard to fake. The new video doesn't seem to be using AI as much, but I did spot this illustration that seems generated. The video also references the projectsinflight channel which leads me to believe it's not based on an LLM generated script and the author does understand what he is talking about.

If it was a fake I can see why someone would do that. The Patreon brings in €285.6/month, coming from 140 people. His voice is also very monotone so I can see why you feel it's suspicious.

  • Fixed the link

  • Yes that was what I was referring to. I suspect it was meant as some kind of marketing stunt. There are some interesting comments about this on one of the Dutch subreddits.

  • Wasn't Windscribe the provider that lied about a server getting seized without a warrant?

  • I'd like to say that I appreciate seeing posts with a video embed instead of a YouTube link or other closed platforms.

  • I personally use Node-RED for several automations myself. Is it worth switching to n8n?

  • Didn't Finland do this? (Ban private schools)

  • Piracy related communities are blocked on lemmy.world

  • The piezoelectric properties of quartz and their uses for watches are actually mentioned in the video

  • It's obviously the result of the Dutch living below the sea level and the short drowning, it's quite sad actually.

  • FYI You can embed it like this:

  • Deleted

    Permanently Deleted

    Jump
  • I mod several communities so I never block people, because I want to see their posts and comments

  • FYI They're a troll who only post to instigate

  • What do you dislike about them? I tend to be a bit more skeptical of it's progress than him, but I feel like it's good to hear a different perspective. I also like that he gets guests with more knowledge about the topic to bring some more expertise while he acts as a proxy for the average viewer to make it more understandable for a general audience.

  • I think it's because it's entirely unmoderated (at least it was the last time I checked) and while they claim that defeats censorship they also realize that having CP everywhere ain't a good look

  • Typescript's string pattern types are quite neat though

  • It's not bs because you don't know it.

For anyone else wondering what it's about. Due to the way modern memory chips function, they leak electricity and have to be recharged periodically. This prevents the CPU from accessing the memory resulting in latency spikes. This video explains that, and explores methods to mitigate it.

  • I'm not really sure how people come to that conclusion either, but perhaps they are just unfamiliar with these types of posts
