  • I feel that.

But just to say it: Because it's still the right thing to do, and if we didn't, it would just be that much worse.

There's no denying the best thing people can do for the planet isn't recycling, etc - it's voting.

  • I grew up a middle class kid in the rich suburbs. That's so realistic and common it's practically cliche.

The only realistic part is the rich parents not making the kid out when it really came down to it. You don't hear about it more because Rich parents get their kids out of drug issues and DUIs like the rest of us run errands on a Tuesday night.

  • Backmarket will buy it from you and resell it. Just bought an iPhone 13 for my 16 year old. Lots of life left in "old" devices

  • Considering he's dead, probably not much.

  • All the stuff in the USA named after Von Braun doesn't surprise me.

Really interesting to see all the stuff named after Philippe Pétain in the USA. Looks like it was banned after him in the 1920s-1930s due to his role for France/allies in WWI. Then he became a Nazi collaborator later.

Good reminder of why you shouldn't name things after people who are still alive.

  • I meant the brand more than the person.

  • I mean... Hugo Boss would take issue with not dressing to impress. But I guess even then it's understated by fashion standards.

  • Hot take: The nether woods. They seem crazy, but the colors work in a remarkable number of situations.

But I love working with wool. Some don't like the texture, but I think it works really well.

  • If you're referring to Microsoft, they haven't had anything to do with MSNBC since 2005, or the website site since 2012.

  • Yeah. It's been a fairly common thing for decades. Counter programming during the halftime, encouraging people to flip channels. Puppy bowl on the animal channel is probably the most famous (and innocuous)

  • To the layman: sleet=tiny ice. Hail=big ice.

  • Ethiopian Coptics are some of the oldest Christian groups in the world. You could (and I think they do) argue they predate Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox.

  • The downside of not having any major corporation defend his IP for infringing on their profits is that you see tons of counterfeit Calvin stuff that is very out of character. Used to see more of it. Thankfully as the strip hasn't been over-promoted, he's not mega popular, so I don't feel like you see it as much as you used to

  • Not an expert, but I've always understood that what you're describing is pansexual. I've understood the bisexual is general attraction to both men and women. Pansexual is attraction to any person.

Again, give or take any given person's own chosen labels and attractions that might vary.

  • Right move. Wrong reason.

  • No one is "safe" but there's clearly a difference at a macro level of different regions. House to house isn't a difference, but with so many people working full-remote, people are able to choose which cities they live in, so that comparative data is still useful.

  • He's been amazing in more dramatic roles many times. Watch "The Foreigner (2017)," "Shinjuku Incident (2009)," and "New Police Story (2004)."

That said, he's had issues - cozied up to the Xi regime, issues with alcohol and drunk driving, a son in frequent trouble with the law where Daddy bailed him out... So you have to hold his nose a bit to watch movies. And he's clearly got a bit of the Nic Cage in him where he can do some great stuff, but also doesn't seem to say no to anything, so he does a lot of trash movies.
