  • I'm an atheist, but I would probably guess that those type of Christians aren't real Christians at all. It seems to be common in America for people to associate "traditional family values" with Christianity. Which very basically translates to racism and homophobia. So they hide behind Christianity like they're holyier then thou. These people aren't Christians, their bigots with disassociative disorders. You were raised by bigots.

  • Wow, excessive emojis and em-dashes... Not ai at all

  • AOTY has algorithmic suggestions

  • Deezer? They still don't pay artists much, but I think it's still better than Spotify

  • Sarcasm?

  • AI propaganda slop aside, fucking rise up already... FFS

  • It's sex. She's talking about sex.

  • Why are their official communities on Reddit and Discord? Why not a Mastodon or Lemmy community?

  • No such trouble for me, thank goodness

  • It's so far from being ready. I built it on void recently and well, it ran, but it was very bare bones. At this stage I still prefer netsurf.

Looking forward to the finished product.

  • Can some tell me how Deezer stacks up? I switched from Spotify to Deezer a little while ago, not for any real reason, other than Spotify kept increasing their prices and I don't really listen to audio books or podcasts even. Plus Deezer streams hifi flacs as standard so it sounds way better. I've got no idea how ethical they are tho, but would be interested to learn.

Edit: so I did my own research and looks like Deezer pays sightly more per stream than Spotify, but marginally..

Never mind, I'm beginning to build my local music library and self host it. I buy lots of merch and I go to gigs regularly. Once my library is substantial enough I'll quit the streaming apps

  • Same. Jellyfin for media (symphonium app for music), immich for photos, nextcloud for pretty much everything else...

  • It's peer to peer so it depends on what you're concerned about. It shouldn't raise any flags with your ISP I wouldn't think

  • Lawnchair launcher

  • But like, where do I download all my games from?

  • I switched to GrapheneOS like 4 years ago and at first I was bummed that I could no longer tap my phone to pay. But it's fine. I still go out with my wallet in my pocket, so it's no problem to just tap my bank card really... I'll take privacy over convenience thanks

  • I'm honestly kinda sick of this. Sure, Google's decision to try to lock down their devices to prevent installing unsigned apps is concerning for FOSS. But can we all just calm down a bit?

Linux isn't going anywhere, and neither is hardware that supports it. Yes, is possible that Microsoft or even Intel (now that Trump has bought into it) might try to do some sketchy shit. But the open hardware market is starting to look promising. Look at MNT, System76, Pine, Framework etc..

I agree times are scary and everything is looking kinda bleak, but your best option right now is to completely boycot (as much as possible) Google, Apple, Meta, Microsoft etc. Just stop using their shit.

Buy up old PC's, turn them into home servers and self host as many services as you can.

I'm confident GrapheneOS will continue and we will still have f-droid after 2027. But I'm an optimist.

  • I just hope that the Graphene devs continue to support the last supported versions of Android that allow installing apks.

I couldn't be happier with my P7 that has been running Graphene since day one. Zero Google. Zero problems
