  • Tht wasn't quite nice on your part, but still thank you.

  • Thanks, I wasn't aware of those actions by the army. Guess that gives me a different view of the incident...

  • I used to play Kenshi at 1-2 fps. Now I've got a better CPU so it's not fun anymore...

  • It's impossible to systematically lie to an entire country's population about the country itself. It's never happened anywhere on Earth and will never do so with current technology. It is however trivial to lie about other countries, which I like to always keep in mind. Think for a moment what reason a Chinese person would even have to dislike their government, when they are clearly doing a good job and actually solving their problems. Even the victims of Tiananmen weren't those often talked-about "pro-Democracy" students, most were anti-liberalization communist worker protestors.

  • Oh, the Fairphone 4! Been using it since it came out, and judging from how durable it's been so far and the support they still offer for their older models, I only expect to throw it away once phones are no longer a thing, maybe in 2062 or so...

  • Your concept of "failure" might not exactly fit everyone else's, but I'm sure you can contribute to the conversation!

  • Well, it seems to struggle with really complicated equations without a bit of help, but it appears to have no trouble with complicated boundary conditions for simple equations. E.g., it solves most variants of the convection-diffusion equation on its own, given different boundary conditions, multiple regions, etc. While I haven't managed to get it to actually write down the boundary conditions from an abstract description, that doesn't really take much time to do oneself.

Also, I got it to successfully solve some statistics on differential equations using plain prompts, like "if the derivative of the average of this distribution with respect to time is equal to ...". Seems to work fine as long as it understands all concepts presented.

  • I don't think anyone is siding with anyone. People are just pragmatic. And we should be too! Anyway, I'm not really into politics atm, gotta take care of my mental health, but honest thanhs for engaging <3

  • It's 6 am here and I'm still awake lol, I'll need hella coffe to get through the day.

  • My bad then

  • Yeah, I fully agree. It should be something more along the lines of "sane defaults" (seeing all instances, automatic recommendation on signup, app-level migration) than "autopilot", but I will probably discuss this more once I have the time.

  • Could be done in apps. Managing federation under the hood if the user wants so, I mean. I'm an absolute smoothbrain regarding all things web (or mobile lol), but I use my barebones, cobbled-together desktop Lemmy client sometimes, so maybe I could repurpose it for other users?
