I try to contribute to things getting better, with sourced information, OC and polite rational skepticism.Disagreeing with a point ≠ supporting the opposite side, I support rationality.Let's discuss to make things better sustainably.Always happy to question our beliefs.

  • I'm happy for your people and for Europe. I hope this movement keeps its promises.

  • I like Oh my Higgs, because some people called it God's particle.

  • Because helping the poor and discriminated was already in Jesus' philosophy, way before Marx. Too bad some Christians seemingly don't know about it.

  • I tried, but they don't want to mix with dull colored individuals.

  • I don't know, it's the floor of an open-air corridor in a fairly recent apartment building in Japan. I would guess some innovative flooring that is extra safe for families and easy to maintain.

  • Thank you! The very average camera of my 4 years old Fairphone 4.

  • Allons-y!

  • If I'm not mistaken, the water looks bright blue because some particles are going faster than light in this water. So it emits a blue flash akin to the Sonic boom when a plane goes faster than sound speed in the atmosphere. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cherenkov_radiation

  • I think it's already the case for 1080p at the distance most people put their TV.

  • Remember the resurgence of jokes about France surrendering? Same background.

Btw, it was not only refusing to let them fly, but primarily refusing to join the war while the UK, Australia, Poland, Spain or Italy did join that time.

  • Haven't heard about it, thank you.

  • Yep, literally the whole habitable layer of our planet.

  • I don't think they care as much for minimizing trauma as they care for cheap labor from a developing country. I doubt there are a lot of 4chan users there.

  • I didn't know about that. Do you have a reliable source?

  • See how little the recent “No Kings” protests have accomplished vs the death of that one health insurance ceo.

What did the murder of this CEO accomplish?

  • From the peak period of Japanese high quality electronics production I guess.

    お疲れ様でした!

  • No Stupid Questions @lemmy.world

For French origin words like "meter" American English inverted the last letters of "metre" to better match the pronunciation. Why isn't it also the case for other similar situations like "possible"?
