  • It's like Christmas at Jackie Chan's house!

I think the most fun I've ever had with Gex is watching Dunkey's videos making fun of it lol

  • It's a fun game with some nice visuals but for whatever reason I lose interest fairly quickly. Like it's a nice little Saturday afternoon game - I'll have some fun with it and then move on to the next thing. Worth the $5 or so it goes on sale for quite frequently

  • Nice I didn't even realize it was on sale, I played it on Game Pass a couple years ago. $4 is a great price for the game as it's pretty short but a fun experience nonetheless. It has a cool soundtrack too

  • Donut county is a short but sweet game that is both relaxing and funny. My nephew got a kick out of Untitled Goose Game too.

  • I mean I suck at the game and play on the lowest difficulty, I just think the story is awesome. I'm the wrong person to ask lol

  • I just bought Balatro on Fanatical which came with a free game voucher so I picked up Grip: Combat Racing asking with it. Both really fun games.

Tempted to get FF7 remake but I need to put in more time with a Baldur's gate 3 before buying another big game

  • Yup you nailed it, think classic top down Zelda but with more fast paced bump combat/hack n slash combat depending on which game you're playing, and less puzzles. Don't be ashamed to use a walkthrough for Ys 1 and 2 as they are originally made in the late 80s/early 90s and have some obscure elements to them (find a boss before getting x item and you will get one shotted/ won't be able to damage him, etc)

  • Check out the Ys series on PSP and Vita, they are some of the best games I've played through on my Vita. Digitalemelas.com has a lot of really good info on it.

    Also obligatory Persona 4 Golden

  • Yeah he's one of my favorites, I think he had a pretty rough year last year and you could see it in his content but it seems like things have been better for him lately - his Japan videos are really cool.

  • The Retro Future made a hilarious parody of those videos, I think he was pretty fed up with them

  • Steam but mainly because I have a steam deck so ease of use.

  • The overall story was a disappointment but there were a few really good scenes between Don Cheadle and Sam Jackson, and I thought the episode involving the submarine launch was entertaining.

  • Lately it's been Persona 4 Golden on the Vita and Zelda ToTK.

Zelda because you can change your play style easily, sometimes I just want to build stuff, other times I want to explore the map, fight monsters, or do side quests. Sometimes I'll sit there and spend a bunch of time preparing meals for a future play sessions.

Persona 4 I keep coming back to for the story and overall experience - music, voice acting, and even just navigating menus is so stylistic and top notch. I started my playthrough in 2019 though and am barely picking it back up.

On days I have more energy I've been playing Freedom Planet 2 for some action platforming as well.

  • I had buyers regret right after I clicked purchase because I was on the wait-list for a year and then I got the email saying I had 3 days to purchase or I lose my spot in line, so naturally my FOMO kicked in. Well played, valve.

I love the damn thing though. I don't play it every day but when I fire it up I'm in awe of what it can play. Such a fun tinkering machine too. Most recently I've been replaying MGS V and Freedom Planet 2.

  • Just want to drop this excellent resource here on everything Ys: https://www.digitalemelas.com

Ys 8 is a great entry point which got me hooked on the series. Each game is self-contained, however Ys 9 does reference previous games more as an easter egg/fan service than actually affecting enjoyment of the story.

  • Same, I've been dabbling in these handhelds for about a year or so now and I always tend to go right back to the Vita, it's such a solid device.

  • Download Decky in desktop mode, install VibrantDeck plugin, and increase saturation to around 135 to make the screen pop a little more.

I recommend Devil May Cry V and Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain for AAA games that look and play great with little to no tinkering.

Or you can tinker to your hearts content, it's what's great about the deck!

  • I run AmberELEC on my 351V and have a Miyoo Mini+,I just really like how OnionOS boots you straight to your game and I use the game switcher a lot on the MM+. AmberELEC is good for tinkering but I guess I just like the simplicity of Onion OS for quick pick up and play sessions.

  • Yup Lemmy rotated my pic lol. I rarely use rumble but that's because I mainly use mine for 16 bit and below. Hopefully you get it sorted out!

Anyone else still rocking the 351V?
