  • Ey, Canada included Q's for gender identity in their 2021 census, nice! It does look closer to symmetry across their whole population.

    Among the 59,460 transgender people, there were more transgender women (31,555) than transgender men (27,905).

  • There's no reason to expect symmetry in gender dysphoria experienced by AMAB and AFAB bodies. There are no strong evolutionary pressures creating that symmetry. I've seen surveys in the U.S. reporting ratios upward of 6:1 transgender women to transgender men.

Also, pro tip: if you're a dork like me who sticks their hands in their pockets and accidentally unlocks their phone with the fingerprint scanner, remove your non-dominant hand's fingerprints and always put your phone in that same hand's pocket. E.g. if you are right handed, remove your left hand fingerprints and always put your phone in your left pocket. That way you need to remove the phone from the pocket and transfer it to your other hand before you can unlock it.
