    Let's you register an easy to remember domain name linked to an IP address you specify. It's useful for self hosting or avoiding having to buy a domain name.

    Free version makes you confirm every month that you still want the domain name, but that's just a couple of clicks from the email they send you.

  • I switched when they announced Windows was going to start watching everything you do. So it can help you better... of course.

    I started with Bazzite and didn't really understand immutability. I had just heard it was good for gaming. I bricked my installation trying to get write access to the folder where login screen images are stored because that part happens to be immutable.

    I switched to Garuda because it is also gamer focused and the system folders aren't on lockdown. Both were super easy and have worked great.

    I'm still learning what it means to be on Arch, but that's an interesting journey, so I don't mind.

  • In WA votes are anonymous so you can only see if your ballot was received and accepted. But we do have paper ballots and random batch audits, so we can verify the numbers match the ballots in the processing room.

    WA, and most states have election observer programs, contact your local election office to find out how to go watch.

  • Needs are always based on objectives. Need to stay alive? Food, shelter, basic hygiene. Need to stay sane? Stimulation, interaction, meaning. Need to be happy? Free time, achievement.

    The important thing is they are always conditional. You don't even need to stay alive, unless you have an objective that requires it. You don't need to go to the movies, unless your objective is to unwind. And so on.

    Most often our wants and desires are what creates need as a requirement to achieve them.

  • In all honesty, this will likely never be an issue that you can resolve with your parents or your sister. Think of our behavior like scratching a surface, with each pass the scratch gets deeper and deeper and harder to get out of. You and your parents have been following this pattern for so long you can't erase it.

    What you can do, is change yourself. Let it be ok if they appreciate your sister more. Whether they do or not you are the same person. It's time to appreciate you for your own sake, whatever your parents think.

    Try to be happy despite them. Go flourish despite them. Tolerate their shortcomings as best you can and try to give and receive what love you can.

    The irony of all of this is that when you finally get to the point where you no longer care whether you have their approval, that's when you are most likely to get it.
