For those warning you away from Arch, it doesn't have to be like that anymore.
I installed Garuda as a Linux noob and it has been petty straightforward and problem free. You don't have to build Arch by yourself in a cave from scraps anymore. Garuda supports Nvidia too.
Just make sure you have pamac installed, it's the one thing my build didn't do and it made software installation and updates way easier.
While pretty much everyone here is taking a moment to talk about beans, peas are higher in a lot of nutrients and a lot easier to digest (I think they are tastier to). You can often get them frozen in bulk if you don't want to deal with dried and they can disappear into a lot of recipes.
Consider backing up your rice dishes with peas if you aren't a bean fan.
Uneasy, yes, but also totally locked into the ecosystem and afraid of trying to educate a userbase -that can barely use technology as it is- enough that they can function with completely new tools.
I feel like everyone here needs a reminder that love bombing is something that happens AFTER mistreatment to make the victim calm down and become compliant.
This isn't just being overly affectionate, it's a technique used to manipulate behavior and keep a victim loyal.
Whether or not other artists deserve more attention is kind of beside the point. The point is that people are complicated and multifaceted and both good and bad things can come out of a person. None of us are all one thing.
Clearly JK created something that was loved around the world, but clearly she also doesn't know how to coexist and empathize beyond her prejudices. The bad thing didn't erase the good thing from existence, but it certainly complicates our relationship with it.
Yeah, well we aren't talking about Brazil. My state is all paper. There are multiple audits and there are public observers at every stage. The shit would hit the fan if it was even one ballot off. It's a super transparent and auditable system.
Can someone explain to a Gen x guy what "listening data" gets me? I've been living off a folder of mp3s for 30 years. Does this use my music? Does this get it from the Internet somewhere? How is it different from asking Alexa to play music for me? Thanks.
Some people, not anyways men, have been taught, rather mercilessly, that they have to be self sufficient. These people get aggravated, even angry when someone else fails to live up to the standard that they (unfairly) were forced to. There can be an instinctive feeling that it is somehow an injustice to them.
That doesn't excuse abandoning someone in the wilderness. Often these people struggle to learn to be a kind helper.
Also, none of this is meant to excuse the behavior. It is possible to understand "why" without condoning it. When confronting this it is important to be firm that it is unacceptable, as well as understanding that it may be a struggle to relearn.
I don't know what distro y'all are on, but I've been a beginner on an Arch based distro for a couple of years and I haven't had a major issue that wasn't fixed by an update and reboot.
8 isn't bad if you do x2 x2 x2. It sounds like a lot of steps but it's fast.
For 7... Just use the trick for the other number 😋
