  • I doubt your numbers are factual. Depending on the industry, you'll have very specific, non mixed waste materials, which would be way easier to recycle than mixed trash from households.

  • With root, it is not hard at all. You just net the "fix safetynet check" module for magisk. After that you'll need to hide root within magisk: Hide magisk + Zygisk + enforce denylist. Some of the Apps might still detect the Magisk App somehow but for that, I recommend you "Hail" from Fdroid. It freezes / deactivates the apps you want and thaws them, whenever needed. In the frozen state, magisk won't be detected, as it seems uninstalled to other apps. Hail is also incredibly nice for apps that drain your battery on idle. It is even possible to use GPay without any problems, though it is a bit tricky to set up for it to work. But there's tutorials for that as well.

  • UBlock Origin is the name of the extension. My autocorrect messed it up ^^

  • Problem with that is, idcac accepts the cookies, ublock blocks the banner and thus you havent given consent and no cookies should be placed. Note that some websites might collect data regardless but there's nothing much to do about it. ¯_ (ツ) _/¯

  • 6 adblockers?! Have you looked into uBlock origins customisable block lists? You can combine at least 3 blockers with that. Additionally you could add custom block lists.

    Edit: clarifications and spelling errors.

  • Once, I searched for a very specific thing about my laptops power throtteling behaviour and found an reddit post with an answer to it. After reading it, I saw my own username next to it :D I seemingly dug down that rabbit hole a couple of months prior.

  • In Android 13, there are two different battery optimization steps, are you sure, signal is unoptimzied? I have had no issues at all. Even now without Google GMS, I receive them within 20 seconds. Edit: You can also bulk delete pictures fairly easy within Signal in the settings. Imho its the videos though, that take away the most memory.

  • We have very beat up VW T5s at my company and sometimes I do exactly this to practice. I have no empathy left for these, I don't feel bad for the gearbox. It surely will be the last thing to fail on these cars.

  • iirc, they already had to impelement, that you can choose the default search engine in Androids first setup.

  • The killer feature is cookie containers, aka no cross site tracking by default.

  • In fact, there are vaccines against some cancer types. There's a virus, which is responsible for almost all womb cancer cases. Here in Germany, the vaccine is free, if you're under 20 iirc.

  • Andernfalls würden sicherlich ein paar Beamte vorbei schauen :D

  • What excactly dont you like about FF? The ability to add addons (on nightly, you can even add any Desktop add-on you like), tab containers / cookie jars, or the flawless syncing to desktop, including passwords and bookmarks?

  • If that is your mindset, you're definitely better without root. My phone is rooted for three years now and never had any issue. I never had an app fail with my methods to hide Magisk. I even got GPay and contactless payment working when I still had Google services installed. Without them, it is impossible unfortunately.

  • What? There is a module for that called SafetyNetFix. I am fully rooted and can usw any App I want.

  • Wie haben die denn meine Deutschlandfahne vegan zubereitet? :D

  • This just proves my feeling that chihuahuas are plain bad at being a dog. Every Chihuahua I've ever seen was aggressive at anything that moves. Just because they're small, people find that cute or something.

  • I know I'll miss the alert slider from my current OnePlus phone, when I have to replace it in the future. On the other hand, I miss the fingerprint reader in the power button. Its just more reliable.

  • CPU architecture wise, you can see the difference between cluttered, old x86 and ARM or even RISC-V chips. They just run so much more efficient, as you can tell with your phone lasting a day or two, or apple silicon consuming a fraction for the same performance.

An example for the ancient backend would be the flight pathing system DAL. (Wendover video)
