  • Well. The new Snapdragon X Elite appears to be quite ok.

The Snapdragon 8cx is a now slightly older model, but I think when it came out was also not on par with Apple.

That said, I find the Thinkpad X13s quite responsive, so for me it's ok. I suppose it depends on your use case.

  • Not a perfect fit but Firefox can annotate PDFs out of the box. Maybe in some cases that is helpful ?

  • What do you hope comes after it ?

  • Yes, you can switch between accounts. In Profile->Settings->Accounts->Change Accounts Settings ->Add

After you have added a second account you can then switch between them with a select list at the top of the main Feed screen.

  • This looks incredibly polished, given that it is a quite new development. I did not even know that you could use a Windows Laptop as a display/keyboard 😀

  • I have downloaded it just now and the first impression is great. Really good app. Currently there is no iPad version. Maybe that’s possible in the future?

  • It also has a switch to enable SD-card boot first. There is a bit of info on the wiki

  • It sounds good, but if you discuss a question and come to a conclusion you would then have to organise that someone documents the result elsewhere, otherwise the hard earned insight, probably with contributions of several experts is lost.

  • I don’t think virtual cards are meant to be more anonymous? My understanding is that it prevents that your original card details get stolen in online transactions

  • I use it for quite some time and am happy with it. I have not noticed bad search results but also have not compared really. I general I have found what I was looking for.

  • I use my company laptop for work, it other than that I only have the Pinebook. For personal use it’s ok, probably not the fastest but ok. Also the memory is no problem for me.

  • I always feel to connect some cables and make a light go blink blink very satisfying. There are cheap sets with all sorts of cables and lights/sensors.

Then choose your language of choice and make it blink/summm/ measure the temperature/air pollution or so

Once you have it choose another language and repeat 😀

(BTW, I use a Raspberry Pi 3 as a Nextcloud server, works fine, this might depend on your expectations)

  • Ada is really good at making this kind of bit hacking very transparent. It might be interesting to create a Ada version of the examples in the Article to illustrate this. Even the Rust solution looks really messy compared to how Ada approaches this.

  • Happy to report that the PineBook Pro is great (considering the price point) and the display is really good even compared to any kind of Laptop. 😀

  • Personally I find the effort to learn a new layout not justifiable as I often work with different devices, some of them not my own, so it would be difficult to modify them and there is no way I could use a new layout blind.

That said I find the approach to use only layer four and five on a qwerty keyboard interesting. How would I go about to try this ? For example on Linux Ubuntu or Archlinux?
