Disorders like ADHD and autism aren’t “new”. They’ve just been defined and recognized more recently than other mental health issues.
STFU, grandpa. Children did have “the autism” when you were a kid. It was just lumped in with “misbehaving” then, because doctors hadn’t learned better yet.
I wouldn’t want to hire either of those lawyers. I have virtually no legal experience, but even someone as inexperienced as me knows that judges absolutely hate having their time wasted. The judge was rightfully annoyed. If the lawyers were too pompous/stubborn/stupid to settle, I’d be annoyed, too.
I’m an older American, and in some ways a product of my times. Many of us were heavily influenced to find women’s armpit hair unattractive. I know, and respect, that others feel differently. Hence, “just my own personal opinion”.
Who the fuck cares if he claims to be “sorry”? This wasn’t a case of awkward phrasing or poorly chosen words. It’s a reflection of how he thinks, and will continue to think. Even if he loses his job (which he won’t), he’d only be replaced by someone with the same attitude.
If I’m in the mood for something slow and meticulously well crafted, 2001: A Space Odyssey. Even though it was released in 1968(!), the special effects hold up better than they do in many films made decades later.
If I want well-written action with excellent character development, then it’s Heat (1995) hands down. If something in that film doesn’t strike an emotional chord with you, even a little, then there’s a good chance you’re a sociopath.
At first I thought it said “outwit” and I was like “Um, dude, a potato could outwit you.”
