If you're wondering why I didn't lead by offering that, it's a manner of stance. Shitjustworks made the choice use AI "art". It was a political choice. This is a pro AI community. As I said, lines are drawn. Shitjustworks picked their side long ago, I was slower to pick mine. I now think that someone who'd chose an AI banner, even over the absence of a banner is not on my side. Anyway, waiting for you to see to this comment is the last thing I have to do before deleting my account, so please reply to notify me when you did, whethrt or not you have anything to say; and I'll be on my way. As for this 'banner', I don't believe it'll be used and I don't care if it is. The point of making it was just a point: Drawing isn't a hard skill. Those who want to learn can. Those who ask receive.

It matters little since I'll be deleting my shitjustworks account soon. Beside, I'm had an Hexbear account for about three years, the only reason I made an account on another Lemmy instance is that they weren't federated then.

I'd argue those paying the highest price might be the legal immigrants in the US getting deported, Palestinians possibly having the existential threat against them worsened as Trump approveds of Netanyahu's genocide without reserves, the Ukrainians having lost the support of the US... With Orban and Meloni at the head of their respective countries and the far-right emboldened everywhere, I think it's a bit early to feel grateful. Empathy for the victims and wariness that we might be facing the same seem like more appropriate sentiments.
