had the name for almost seven years, finally a user of Linux Mint on 31st Jan 2026.

  • Immediate flashbacks to an old maths classroom that had a printed copy of this on the door

  • at least it’s ready in case you find that TV one day

  • If it’s any consolation, my printer’s about as old and Linux Mint seemed to just recognise it the moment I turned the printer off and on again. Might be one thing to cross off the list quickly!!

  • trying to dabble in e-sports for games I’d otherwise play very casually and for personal enjoyment had to have been the most stress I’ve experienced gaming, and now I’m in that exact situation

  • It may not even be them being cheap, just that most people/organisations not directly tech-focused simply aren’t inclined to update software. Like wearing clothing until it starts to fall apart. That trend is another nail in the coffin

  • took this as inspiration to send and he said “we can do that!” 🫡

  • They’d need quite a lot of them (which they don’t have) but I suppose they could make it work

  • 🐧

    Jump
  • Still have Windows 11 on my laptop just to get around the fact that some games that are definitely compatible won't start on my pc (also too lazy to get those games starting on there). The moment I have a Steam Machine I'm getting this laptop straight onto an operating system it deserves!!

  • Ah, well that would explain why Voyager kept giving errors every time I tried

  • Feels like pale oak has been around only recently but then you hear it’s been a year… what’s even happened since then?! Nevertheless, looks really good

  • cats @lemmy.world

    Tough-looking Fella

  • My PC turns 8 in August, if it weren’t for the power supply dying in an unfortunate autoclicker accident then all of its original parts would still have been in there after all this time. Switching to Linux made it almost feel new again after all this time having it

  • Pizza without cheese is amazing, wish more frozen pizzas had cheese-free varieties, would make them even more affordable

  • Certainly feels like they’re stuck in a spiral of cutting in the name of getting out of the red after closing the Halifax and Stockholm studios. Not sure how much of a company they’ll have left by the end of it
