  • I've always had an excessive filter pipeline that slowed me down. My partner always had no filter. It was like Katara with Toph (but easier than Toph, much much kinder and well meaning). After years we both somewhat met in the middle.

    Let's put it another way: I needed alcohol to shut those inhibitory filters down; she did not lol.

    Which absent of the Electoral College, they were right. Hillary won 3 million more votes and both then and now was objectively the better candidate for whom to vote.

    Hence again, why Sanders endorsed and campaigned for her.

  • I don't know about your situation and for whom you're responsible, but until the binary election system changes -- I cannot afford playing chicken with accelerationist rationale of choosing the Greater Poison in lieu of protecting my family and children -- even if what some of what you say I agree with.

    Trump was never the better alternative to Hillary. If anyone though this, they were fooled by right-wing extremists. I voted Hillary, even though I campaigned for Sanders.

    Sanders in fact did the same thing, too, for the very reasons I laid out here.

    Now I go to DSA and Democratic meetings alike to advocate for the most progressive candidates possible during these Democratic primaries. That is where I and many others have the most agency to effect change and avoid more Spanbergers and Fettermans, etc.

  • To other users reading this: This user tends to argue in bad faith and I'd advise tagging them accordingly, but I'll just clarify for the record:

    AOC voted against that bill because it actually enabled offensive bombs to continue while gutting defensive Iron Dome measures. AOC has long been a proponent of defensive measures that protect civilian life, independent of national flags. However, given the latest number of loopholes that Israel has used, AOC has as of April 1st adjusted her position to refuse ALL military aid to Israel.

  • I'm now vegetarian and I have to say I have a lot of respect for your use of empathy to understand their position. Personally as someone who's been on both sides over my life that I think we get wayyyy more shit than we dish out. It makes some of us resentful being frankly bullied at times as the minority. People are very defensive of their habits, and that's fine. I'm not so aggressive and understand people change on their own time.

    It's the content of one's character. Jon Stewart has already proven himself very aware of the political state and being able to bully Congress into submission on behalf of vets and first-responders.

    So yes, this is not a non-starter in any way shape or form, if we know they're intelligent, authentic, charismatic, and empathetic.
