  • Definitely. All of those are great albums

  • Ooo thanks for the heads up. I liked their previous album.

  • Good mention. Love this album!

  • Breadcrumb Trail - Slint

Slint's 1991 album Spiderland is one of my favorite albums ever. They haven't done anything since and I have no idea what those guys are up to but I'd definitely be intrigued if they popped up again

  • Aquemini - Outkast

Outkast is one of my favorite hip hop artists and I would definitely be excited if they decided to do something together again.

  • FYI I see a typo on the short list. Frankie and the Witch Fingers. (Awesome band by the way)

    Slowdive - everything is alive

  • I only listened to a few songs but I like what I hear so far! I'll listen to more later. A couple of questions first...

What song(s) are you most proud of?

Did you make your own album art? It's really cool.

  • I haven't gotten to this one yet but it sounds apppealing. It's on my list of things to check out to this week

  • Enjoying my Sunday morning coffee with Sonic Youth's Daydream Nation!

Thanks to Polydextrous@lemmy.world for reminding me of this awesome album!

  • It's my turn to post an R.E.M song! Also not a duet but that's okay.

When I was a kid my sister bet me that I couldn't memorize all the lyrics to this song... I proved her wrong! And I still remember most of it!

🎶 It's the end of the world as we know it! 🎶

  • It was actually their 2013 tour when I saw them. So two years after this video. I was thinking it was earlier than that. I saw them at a small venue called Akron Musica in Akron, Ohio, USA.

  • I saw them live probably around the time this video was made! It was really cool to see them do their thing with the loop pedals.

    The Armed - Perfect Saviors

  • Here is a cover of Taylor Swift's Love Story by black midi. Their bassist who doesn't often perform vocals sings here. And they added a saxophone solo!

Youth Lagoon - Rabbit (Live on KEXP)

  • For those who don't know this is Lingua Ignota. I guess she's releasing her next album under a new name.

  • I think you're right about them falling off around 97 or so. But I think American Idiot in 2004 was considered a comeback for them. Sure they became more mainstream with some of those singles but like said in the daily challenge thread I was 12 and they were awesome to me at the time.

  • This community is welcoming of all alternative music. To me that means anything outside the mainstream and this certainly checks that box. If you don't like something in the future please just down vote and move on.

  • So I was born in 92 and some of my early music exposure was the 90s alternative and pop music my older sisters were into. One CD that my sister would play a lot was Everclear's So Much For the Afterglow. I always liked the title track because of the choral intro transition into the punk sound.

So Much for the Afterglow - Everclear

And then I was 12 when Green Day's American Idiot came out so I was really into that for a while. My favorite track being the 9 minute epic Jesus of Suburbia.
