We have them. The bike route I take to work in Vancouver has a concrete barrier, but it doesn't stop ebike riders from silently sneaking up and nearly knocking me off my bike, and it doesn't stop the uber eats guys driving on the sidewalk to their pickup locations. I agree infrastructure is important, but the enforcement for public safety is severely lacking.
This politician is a jackass, but I do wish there was a bit more bylaw enforcement being directed at e-bikes and scooters. I can't count the times I've almost been smoked by one on the goddamn sidewalk, or been sideswiped by what is essentially a silent motorcycle in a bicycle lane. Especially dangerous when they're so favored by delivery app couriers who are also incentivized to rush at high speeds.
And if you DON'T have a steam deck but have a decent smartphone, a razer kishi or similar provides a great comparable budget setup. I use moonlight and a Kishi 2 with my Pixel 6 and it's a great couch/bed experience over wifi.
Anything Cronenberg did in that era.. Scanners, Videodrome, The Fly, (though my personal faves are his 90s/00s output). Anything Argento did in the 80s (Inferno, Phenomena, Opera), etc. Speaking of Italians, my boy Lucio Fulci made some great ones in that decade too, notably The Beyond, The House By The Cemetery, and The Black Cat. Carpenter's 80s stuff should go without saying (The Fog, Prince of Darkness, They Live, The Thing). Craven's Nightmare on Elm Street is pretty perfect too.
Maybe I'd vote for Andrej Zulawski's Possession, which is fucking nuts. Or a personal deep-cut fave like Night of the Comet. Does Blue Velvet count as horror? Does Ken Russell's Gothic?
I use an N95 mini pc, I have it set up with xubuntu (compositing turned off), and it's loaded with Kodi (+Jellyfin add-ons), and used with a USB remote control. It's a super-smooth. I cast music to Kodi from my phone with Symfonium.
Honestly, I hope they do. It'd be funny to see the sales figures. I don't care how much anyone likes AI, but nobody wants to read AI novels.
