  • Ugh, why not work on keeping the emails encrypted on everyhopp?

  • 20 euros and patience for other people

  • My concern is that Faraday cages have limitations and you should think about mitigations

  • I'd add you can get around this with a custom DNS server with DNSSEC

  • So only thing is they might just store all the data locally and send it when they get reception again. Microsoft Word used to do this with "Aria"

  • Did you build or find some yet?

  • The internet -in its current form of trackers, data miners, AI, and surveillance - is a huge resource drain on the environment. Yes, adding a consumer level AI is going to make it much worse

  • Hmmm, thanks for the thoughts. Any better mental frameworks for organization?

  • Dell gaming laptops are decent for the price and might get a discount if you have the preinstall Ubuntu (since you're not buying Windows)

  • Totally agree, but what about normies who don't know much or have a friend to help? Cyber security is such a deep well that even a professional doesn't know everything

Maybe it's becoming more like medicine, where everyone needs to know the basics but have professionals for guidance?

  • Totally, difficult but by no means impossible. I think we should be cautious and have less hubris when it comes to computer security, that was my point

  • To add to the other security conscious comments, even if you wanted to run a VM, there are attacks that escalpe the VM and hit the underlining OS

    Computers are inherently insecure

  • Some classes don't need to work, they hire others to invest their resources or can just live off their resources

  • Perfection

  • Together we can create our very own echo chambers!

  • They're ignoring the simple fact that businesses are putting prices up purely to increase profits.

This is incorrect. Yes, greed exists, but it always exists. Even in classical capitalist economics, inflation comes when supply can't keep up with demand. Fiat currencies floating globally, rampant money printing, global shortages and supply chain issues plus corporate greed starts to show a clearer picture

  • Sorry, what do you mean by "on Lemmy"? And where would I use that command?
