  • One time I was at a grocery store and they sold out of a particular drink I liked.

A manager was standing nearby and I asked when they would restock it.

"Never." He said. "It always sells out and I don't want to constantly order and restock it, so I'm not going to get more."

  • At one point I was pretty broke and bought the super cheap hotdogs and basic sliced sandwich bread for use as buns.Still considered them to be hotdogs, despite being sandwich shaped.

  • Getting small tasks done today. Changing car oil, cleaning the dishes, etc.

It's not much but I feel I'll be a little more on top of things when I start this next week.

  • That's rough. I hope things get better for you soon.

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

    How are you doing?

  • The logic is so that web devs can better tailor sites to your set up. Like don't run fancy graphics for a battery mode laptop, change the theme to match user's theme, etc.

But obviously this is (now) just used to fingerprint and track users for more ad revenue.

  • I know its always been somewhat toxic but the gaming discourse has gotten to be ridiculous. It makes it difficult to even discuss an upcoming or newly releaded game because someone will have an intensely negative view of the studio/dev/publisher/IP Owner, etc.

  • This is a peak AAA problem. The need for ultra high fidelity realism clashes with the need to make the actual gameplay.

Maybe they need splashes of yellow paint to show where the stealth area is.

  • It is less active - There's a fraction of the users here on Lemmy compared to Reddit.

There's also likely a lot of bots on Reddit which can artificially inflate how active something looks.

  • (I'm assuming US)

You can't easily buy full auto M16s*, and bow hunting is very popular.

  • So... No.

The advantage of a trailer is its on set in an area that's securely locked down. A hotel is going to have workers who all have access to your room and therefore you/your stuff.

Secondly, an actor can be expensive but there are a lot of people involved with filming, so that's only one piece of the cost. Not to mention they'd have to pay someone to air the ad.

Third, a hotel may not be very close to the film set, certainly not walking distance. Time is money and even slight extra travel cost, potential delays because of accidents, etc could be a huge set back and end up costing a lot of money in the long run.

  • Dang, I should play New Vegas again.

  • Its a storm alright

  • It seems like its usually just one person just posting over and over or making alts (I assume, based on the fact they just reiterate the same arguments), rather than a coordinated effort.

  • Blorp seems to work well.

  • I know someone like this and it was very anger inducing. Easily the worst lies and sometimes about the dumbest things too.

I've come to realize its a compulsive thing they do when they're stressed, which made me more sad about it than mad. (But its still a little maddening)
