If I post in slack that my family was almost killed and the CEO responds with “this is getting me fired up!!” I will absolutely leak admin credentials and let that bitch get hacked. Kinder and gentler than choking a mf
Nah I think that what you said was legitimate and I don’t think you need to reword it. I’d rather be part of a social media experiment where there’s allowed to be some nuance and subtlety. Also I think you’ve made it pretty clear that nazi’s are excluded from the list of people to try to be nice to. I agree with you there!
I actually kind of like that the word covers a lot of situations. I’d support different words for different loves but my feelings about my romantic partner, my friends, and riding a bike are kinda related to each other in some way.
Honestly as someone who has helped family members set up a password manager one person felt this way and the rest are just not tech savvy. All the simple straightforward stuff took ages because they had never done it before.
Gmail and Google drive are far easier to use than Outlook and OneDrive. Not saying they’re good things for the world but those products haven’t been fried yet.
I found the Anarcho-Texh security guide helpful in getting started thinking about this with more nuance. I’m including the link below but here’s a short summary
Are you an:
Individual
Journalist
Targeted Activist
Are you annoying:
Random assholes
Assholes with resources
The State
Each category has bigger security needs on one side and more powerful tools on the other. It’s kind of humbling to realize that I’m just an individual and the NSA has no special interest in me, but that makes me feel better using a separate browser without additional security to shop on sites that block a VPN etc
(Also tbh I’m not sure when this page was last updated and I have no involvement with the org. Just a cool resource)
