  • It'll be interesting to see if there's an increase in slop or poisoned data to deliberately throw this tool off. Could be a fun experiment.

  • state-sponsored actors

Interesting way to refer to the state of Texas

  • I would recommend taking it at a slow, steady, sustainable pace. It's really satisfying to make huge, sweeping changes, but the things that usually make the biggest difference are the little habits and moments during the day. Incremental progress is the name of the game.

It helps me to pick a point of tension in my life and just spend some time working on that particular thing. For example, I hate when dishes build up, so I spent a whole week just focused on washing them right away. Once that feels like a sustainable routine that I can do somewhat mindlessly, I move on to another little thing.

  • All that time thinking it was a funny inside joke in the biological community and someone ripped it off an xkcd. Of course they did. That's hilarious.

  • I was recently in a conference about synthetic biological approaches to deal with cancer. The only quote I wrote down was "this approach kills cancer in a petri dish, but so does a shotgun"

  • I grew up in Idaho. Can confirm, that's basically the whole population.

  • I mean... an "if" statement is technically AI, so investors can see the buzz word and all Google has to code is "if most engaged moment, then play ad" lol

  • I think it's a uniquely good topic to have in both places. I first learned about Linux on reddit in Chrome on a Windows machine. It really helped lower my barrier to entry to chat with people on a platform that was accessible to my skill level at that time. But now I'm really glad there are nice foss places to talk about it as well.

  • It's my favorite thing to find a pretty niche open source tool like this that actually seems really well supported and developed!

  • I am autistic, which you probably could have just derived from the rest of this comment. Questions like these are so terrifying to me. So I always have a fun fact on hand.

    "What's new?"

"I just learned that only female cats have a calico pattern!"

Then you can talk about cats instead of your life.

  • Those are not the benefits I expected to read haha. I just use it as a nice mindful moment to notice the warm water and smell of the soap. It's a pretty good check in during the day for me.

  • 1000, in the same way pi is 3.

  • I'd second Joplin. They have lots of good sync options, including their own (pretty cheap) service. I just use the android app to read notes, but I agree it's pretty clunky to take notes on android.
