  • In some civilized parts of the world, we've renounced death penalty some time ago and only the far-right wants it back.

  • I'm quite new to linux gaming, and so far I've only used CachyOS and EndeavourOS.I have a dedicated gaming computer with an AMD GPU, only one hard drive and no critical data. Both were easy to install but I just used the default options, didn't try to do anything complicated.Performance-wise, I didn't see any difference (but I don't care enough to run benchmarks so maybe one gives me 3% more FPS than the other). I play in 1440p.I've had a few mishaps on CachyOS regarding updates (2 years ago) so I tried EndeavourOS and it's all been smooth since then.

I guess the answer to your questions depends a lot on your gaming style and on what is important to you.If you're like me, you just want it to work and you do nothing else than gaming, then all the distros mentioned in this thread are about as good.If you want to squeeze that extra 2 FPS, or if you want to game on older hardware, or if you also use that computer as part of your homelab... then there are going to be differences. You might want to consider giving us more information on your needs/projects so that we can adjust our answers.

    Welcome to linux gaming :)

  • Oh this takes me back! Thanks for the laugh you triggered :)

  • It's not.

  • Deep Rock Galactic on Dec 30th :)

  • No one cares what happens in the male brain. Whatever people are wearing, if you don't have enough self-control to resist the urge to harass/assault someone, please seek medical help and don't go around other human beings.Women should be able to joke about their bodies without consequences and without being told "don't act innocent".

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way advocating for military nuclear (or even for anything military).

  • Just reached my 300th hour in Deep Rock Galactic, so far I'm loving it :)

  • The military nuclear is the main reason behind our civilian nuclear infrastructure, which was planned during the cold war. It looks like once per century the military can have an unintended positive effect, yay.

  • I use the Revolut free tier. And I only wire on my revolut account the amounts I want to be paying (my usual bank has free instant wire tranfers) so I don't have any bad surprise. They also offer single-use/disposable virtual cards, which I've used on websites that I didn't trust fully (Steam keys grey market), these are automatically cancelled after one use.

I don't want to sound like I'm advertising this brand though: they've been a pain during the registration process (I've had to take selfies and videos of myself), they seem to be a shitty employer and to have bad customer support service, see the wikipedia page for more details.

  • In Europe, we have debit cards and some banks allow you to create them on the go. I've stopped bothering canceling stuff, I just create a new card for each recurrent payment and I cancel it when I don't want to use the service any longer.

  • Sounds like gaslighting.

  • Families only have one drawer like this?? How do they manage?

  • Is it still geoblocked ?

  • Because farmers vote for the right and the far right who own most of the media ?

  • I am animated by ill will towards corporate anything tbh, corporate America only gets part of my hatred.

  • I agree with you.Imo, we need something besides assasinations/sabotages. We have to educate ourselves and others into trusting each other, working with each other, having empathy and understanding solidarity. But I don't see a way out of capitalism without violence, sadly.

  • In France, during the Nazi occupation in WW2, a few people turned to the Resistance movement which was also a terror operation: they would target military objectives but also conduct assassinations of nazi officials designed to inspire fear in the others and spark support in the population.
