Yeah I agree. My tummy hurt replying to that post because I knew I was going to get more insane replies. And I got them. As some one who cares, it is really hard not to reply to socially detrimental posts. I always hope at least one person reads them and gets a chance to escape to a better place in life.

The people who aren't interested in equity or equality are using pedantry against those who do want them. The original meme is used to reeducate those who have fallen into the trap.
Your work improves the lives of others more than it will improve your own. Which others is determined by politics. Best to spread the improvement around so you can get more of it back from more people.
