  • Homie, you know not what you are doing.

Mayo on outside of bread slices (trust me)

American cheese (any sort) + Pepper Jack or something like it (I use a ghost pepper cheese)

Pre heat your skillet and be patient for both sides. (I wait for the cheese to drip down before turning and removing)

  • When Frys was open and I had writing to do for work I would usually plan a run to Frys for candy, caffeine and whatever silly shit I could find. This would usually burn about 4 hours of time.

For whatever reason electronics shopping (even if I only bought some Jolt Cola) was the perfect procrastination to get me to focus.

  • ahh, the ol' trap of "It will save money to DIY" :)

Give us some pictures of the wood working!

  • You aren’t tough until you do it with your clipless pedals for that test ride

  • Nice job man. Running smooth and shifting smooth is what it’s all about!

  • Love his work and him for it though.

  • Rossmann annoys me, but god damn I love that he is taking up these fights.

  • Let's fucking goooooo....

  • I love Wike trailers, but exactly. They are way to rich for my fun-employed ass :)

The DIY route is very rewarding though

  • I generally add a bit of blue lactate to help that. At this stage though I haven't done much to secure anything

  • Nice! I have no welder…(not sure how responsible it would be to use one extensively on my driveway in suburbia though either)

So a tap and screws holds this all together

  • That's a good idea.

I think even blocking the wheels and using ratchet straps at the front and back could be effective as well.

I need to ensure I find something that visually inspires confidence though as some of the bicycles I work on are $2000+

With regard to security, I really am not too concerned about that. My city does not have a bike theft problem (yet)

Most importantly however is that the trailer is not to be left un attended with a bicycle on it

  • This iteration is built with what I had on hand so due to design it will only do 1 bike at a time.

I am planning in a later revision to put some money into it and get a bike hauler like what people attach to the tow hitch or roof top their car which will let me carry 2 bikes at a time

  • Yes it is.

I love the little kid trailers because you can often also find them for free and they make a good base to start from

The only thing to keep in mind is that they are not made to haul over 75lbs

  • This is to pick up broken bicycles and get repaired bicycles back to their owners

  • Dull Men's Club @lemmy.world

I finished my bike trailer that will tow a bike today

  • I used to use a push notification app and a small python script for that.

I would “&& notify_me ‘message’ “ and get a notification on my watch when whatever script I was running completed

I judge this wave of people in tech pretty harshly.

Just a bunch of boring script kiddies

  • Exactly. at the end of the filibuster... THEY VOTE!

The filibuster needs 2/3 to break but it always ends eventually, and then it's a simple majority.

All of congress just use this as a boogeyman for people who have never studied the rules.

  • The part is Aluminum and the screw going into it is steel.

The threads wore down due to the part being loose

Steel is harder than aluminum so the screw destroyed the part rattling around in the threads and being pulled when brakes were applied

The heli-coil is steel and secured with red locktite. So now it's a steel on steel interface and is stronger than before.

Torque wise brake mounts typically require 70-90 inch pounds (7.5 ft pounds on the high end) of torque. (In most cases tight is correct)

  • Dull Men's Club @lemmy.world

I fixed the threads on this caliper mount
