  • Driving is worse.

If you commute by train or bus you can at least get a streak in candy crush, read a book or stare at people while deliberately eating too slowly.

  • Confidence in self-sustainability.

I don't know what a better word would be. I'm not talking about making some self sustaining homestead or whatever, just the act of creating, building, repairing or designing something without having a guide to tell you how to do it.

You know, "draw the rest of the owl", but I'm dead serious. Just draw that fucking owl. You don't need someone to show you how or to guide your hand through all the steps.

  • I wonder if it possible to design a maintenance free car, and if the market would even reward it.

It'd take the consumers a decade to even notice that they didn't need any maintenance.

  • The question wasn't about proof.

It's more like: If a guy is known for shitting his pants and it smells like shit when he's around, are you going to require proof of shit in his pants before you deny him sitting in your brand new couch?

  • Cross platform is when multitrack drifting arrives at the station.

  • Ok, I will eat an ice cream in a waffle cone sandwich then.

  • There's no rule against inedible containers. Only that it's made from starch.

  • Another explanation for women's buttons is that they used to ride horses sideways. Sidesaddle is done with the right side facing the riding direction.

The would expose the button opening to the wind if they were placed on the right side like men's. With left side buttons, the fabric goes over the opening from right to left, thereby covering for the wind.

  • Coffee in a paper cup is then a sandwich.

  • I have two broken lawn movers, which I'd fix.

I know nothing about lawn movers, so I think I could have a good time going through all the phases of hope, anger and eventually success.

  • There's an Apple data center near me. They feed the hot water into the district heating system and use wind for electricity.

Even if it's environmentally neutral, it's still a ressource hog. Other businesses who want to switch to electricity are currently put on hold, because the data centers are maxing out the grid capacity. I guess it's a luxury problem, but they're causing delays for other businesses in going green, and all only for the purpose of storing iPhone messages and family pictures.

They have about a dozen employees. I think it's mainly security. This has received some criticism because they originally pitched the idea with thousands of new jobs.

So overall, even in a best case scenario it's waste of renewable energy and area which doesn't create any income.

  • I don't know about that. One of the things AI is good at is planning travels. I don't want to waste my own life raking the internet for timetables for flights and sightings at hundreds of pages full of advertising. AI can rather quickly make a decent time table for an extended weekend trip.

I hate AI as much as anyone here and for various reasons, but it's just a tool. It can be used for things that require scheduling without having to pretend that it understands time or anything at all really.

  • Armpit hair grows slower, thinner and more grey with age. Both genders.

Perhaps we associate bushy armpits with older people because they just don't care to remove it for longer periods of time

  • I wonder what the floor plan looks like.

  • All single toilets are sex-segregated if you enter alone and close the door.

Your sex is on one side of the door, all other sexes are on the other.

The issue only happens when you attempt to write a sign that predicts the sex, or if more people have to take a shit together in the same room.

  • It's wild to think about how in our lifetime there's been these people who went straight from tribal to modern life.

It's interesting for sure. The more I think about it, the more sense it makes.

At least Prince Philip showed up and gave them things they'd never seen before, unlike the priests who are like " you gotta believe this 2000 year old book I've read, just trust me bro."

It also makes me think about how modern people are still offering all of their valuables to random billionaires or choosing their leaders by popularity instead of skill.

    Modern humans are still tribal.
