  • Companies will be just selling stuff to the wealthy. Afaik currently already the top 10% wealthy make up 50% of consumerism related revenue.

  • Well yeah in civilized countries it is the norm. You know, countries where you don't have to go into debt for multiple generations just cos u visisted the doctor once. That explains why in the US you don't have to wait - there simply aren't a lot of people who can afford to see a doctor.

  • tf u talkin about?

  • Why did you list Xi? He made China a global superpower, and nowadays China is even leading in some technological areas like Battery Technology. Putin and Trump are killing their countries, whereas Xi does the opposite.

  • Did u just call women 'period people'?

  • Now MAGAs will blame the cold winters on renewables because solar panels stole all the sunlight and warmth.

  • You just forgot one teeny-tiny thing right there, called taxes. If you have a job paying you 100k a year, that's not the amount that gets transferred to your bank account. In fact, in high-tax countries you prolly only see like half of that. And also don't forget rent and food and stuff like that, which reduces the amount of money you can actually spend on stuff you want even further. So yeah, considering all of that it will be difficult to even achieve a million bucks.

  • Ozempic shouldn't be the main way to reduce obesity in a population. Ozempic is needed in the US because there it is almost impossible to stay thin since companies are allowed to put high fructose corn syrup into pretty much anything. Regulating and banning such behaviour will result into a healthier population, without needing controversial drugs that you basically have to take for your whole life and can have severe side effects. Ozempic should NOT be normalized and should only be prescribed when nothing else helps.

  • It's not bad, I think you can play pretty much anything on 1080p with 60fps easily. It's just that if you want to play games in 1440p or 4K with 120 fps+ you need something more powerful.

  • Yeah maybe in California where the Cost of Living is abnormally high compared to the rest of the US and the rest of western countries.

  • Can people please stop throwing acronyms around expecting everyone to know them

  • Just look at germany, we are the core country of the EU. We are cooked. We need NOW a lot of reforms that should've been done 20 or more years ago, but the corrupt governments of the last 20 years just used the money from when we had good economical times to put it into their own pockets. Most notably, our pension system will crash, although the demographic problems have been obvious for like 40 years or so. Our pension system works basically where the working people finance the pensions of the pensioners. But this system doesn't work if the number of pensioners every year rises and simultaneously the amount of working people decreases. Already the government has to subsidize this system MASSIVELY because the pension contributions from the working people aren't enough to pay all pensions. We talking about LITERALLY a third of federal budget next year will be used to pay pensions. This means we barely have any money left for projects that will help us modernize the country, which is desperately needed in basically all areas.

  • It should not get like Reddit, but I still wish for more users so that some more specific "subreddits" (what's the term used here on Lemmy?) are getting more users and more posts.

  • Flogging is a form of punishment where you get whipped.

  • Baseball, huh?

  • Easier said than done lol. First of all, we are in a recession (we really are, if you factor out the fake AI growth), so having any job at all feels increasingly like a privilege. Second of all, I am pretty sure that there are more dickhead companies than good ones that care about their employees. Bonus points for difficulty if you just graduated from college/university and try to find an entry-level job. Those are basically non-existent these days.
