  • None of that is a reason for lynching. Arguing that just opens the way for similar arguments in the opposite direction.

Justifying violence has that weird effect of justifying violence. It's always a lose-lose game. But I have zero hope that fans of Rima Hassan (of all people) will ever understand that, but most likely they'll suffer the consequences of that stupidity.

  • See, that's the problem of those silly narratives... More French vote RN (the party of the victim in this news) than LFI (the party of the murderers).

  • What about ETIAS then, will it be delayed again? The Europeans are paying ESTA (USA), ETA (Canada, UK), NZETA (NZ) etc for years now.. when is our payback?

  • Lemmy is an echochamber of the far-left, it's worse than Mastodon.

  • This toxic hateful comments dominating this discussion is the reason why I left Lemmy more than a year ago and make me want to go back to my decision. Sickening and incredible self defeating, this is not how French society will look at this murder.

  • The amount of people praising murder on the streets of France in this thread is shocking. France is not living under the Reich, murder has no excuses and it's also incredibly self-defeating for the far-left.

  • Looks fantastic, exactly what I've been looking for, thank you.

  • The door is wide open, who's stoping you? Join Russia.

  • If anything the app is Australian, Australian made, the developers are in Australia.. this is clickbait

  • My European brain can't understand how justice (does not) work in the US. There's a body, a weapon and a murderer, how is this not a murder trial?

Wonder if it was the other way around, a liberal daughter accidentally killing her republican maga father, what would the jury say?

  • You need freedom and democracy in order to freely perceive corruption, these rankings comparing incomparable countries are always a bit silly.

Often big corruption trials (so effective fight against corruption producing results) lead to an increase of perceived corruption.. but there's hardly any other way of comparing it.

  • The strategy of blocking vital deals with alternative trading partners (Mercosur) will however force us to do some bowing 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • God did, it's in the bible.

  • I think you're the one with a superiority complex and an eurocentrism view, as you seem to believe that European colonization is somehow exceptional and that Europe is the sole responsible and willing participant in the capitalist system that runs the world today. I really have nothing else to discuss if that really is your belief.

  • The US, Canada, Brazil, Mexico etc all former European colonies but all independent for long enough to be responsible for their own actions.

What we do tend to forget are the non-European colonization. Arabs have a general free pass a colonizing, from Western Sahara to Curdistan. Turks also. Russian, Chinese.. same. Colonization was not a European invention nor exclusive.

  • Britain was already very industrialized before the steam engine. Portugal had colonies before Britain and was importing textiles and other utensils from the British industry already in the XVI century and even before that. Portugal and Spain totally missed the industrial revolution btw. So I don't think those issues are that directly connected. In Portugal historians often argued that we missed the industrialization precisely because of the focus on maritime trade and colonies.

  • This Russian app exiled in Dubai deserves as much boycotting as Meta or Amazon.

  • Electricity is such a gay concept. Why would any conservative care for thar?

  • People know.. If this news was from somewhere in Europe everyone would be blaming the Brits in the comments. It's known..
