By your logic type PD spec is stupid because it is also used in PC. The use cases extend beyond PC. Think video wall system where cabling can be messy and pretty much everyone got their own standard. This would allow a single daisy chain and simpler cabling.
Ironically, using web push and web notification would solve this privacy issue since it falls upon the browser to provide the push mechanism. And browsers can be used without an account unless they want to enshittify that too
Yeah, it's how software should be. Learn from other mistake. However, I'd also like to point out that I think it's better to focus on build system ergonomic rather than a package management ergonomic. Let git be the package repository and the build system be aware of git repo. That way I think it would solve a lot of supply chain issue being centralized
There are areas that can be improved to reduce waste tho. Providing e-reader for example instead of a full blown tablet to reduce book waste is I think would help. Plus students don't have to lug around their textbook AND workbook at the same time. Like legit, tech can be helpful IF they are implemented TO ACTUALLY HELP and not to sell something
HTML5 is a beast of a spec. Like, if properly used it is enough to make a functional UI with modal and tooltips and whatnot. This is what makes it popular for not just "web" application IMHO because you then no longer need to learn yet another DSL for UI (electron, react native, capacitor js, expo)
Lmao, those Easeus are so out of left field. Can I have The Sims 3 if it is on steam please? If it is not for steam then it's fine. Someone else may want it
No, there's a clear distinction between a native application and a website. I could go on and on about my hate for native app and it's difficulty to develop for more than one platform, but the point is only SOME apps needs to be native IMHO. Apps like CAD, multimedia editor and player, server application, and developer toolchain. Something like instant messaging, video conference, multimedia streaming, forum can be a web app.
