  • These are all really good answers, but yours really nailed it for me. Such a fascinating development and change in infrastructure. Thank you for such a well thought out and informed reply.

  • I love me some bad movies!

  • Blackalicious - Blazing Arrow One of the greatest albums of all time. If you like Dilla and DOOM that's the only logical choice.

  • Same. The OP article is interesting, but was hoping for more than a few wiki links of past instances. Is there more verifiable evidence for this instance? Don't doubt the claim, just curious.

  • This also might be the thing the first astronauts warned us about a private space industry. Sure, they can innovate faster and cheaper, but not as safely. There's a 60 minutes interview with musk crying because his astronaut idols didn't see eye to eye with him on privatizing space.

  • I still think this is the biggest issue with lemmy right now. There should be a way for communities that are identical across instances that can connect where a post would be cross posted and connected with links to each instance it's connected with.

  • The article mentions "Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment". https://www.alliance4creativity.com/

Looks like a group that takes down piracy websites.

I assume MPA refers to "The Motion Picture Association". They keep changing their name: "The MPA, originally called the Motion Picture Producers and Distributors of America (MPPDA) and later the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA)", then abbreviated to MPA.

Just clarifying the abbreviations since it isn't really explained/articulated in the article.

  • A bit misleading but yes, 1000km is what they are talking about. Also the article doesn't address scalability.

  • Voyager is very similar to RIF. I'd recommend it highly.

  • "Today, the American military is for example using missile defense systems invented in Israel, from the Iron Dome to Trophy." I just looked this up and it seems you are right, they created the system of defense but also had over 2 Billion in investment for the system. Would that defense exist without the support given? It's a complicated issue but the brutal response doesn't seem appropriate.

  • As mentioned, the first outcome would end the game in turn 14 and also be impossible to place in the first phase of the game. The second solution comes closer but weighs heavily on getting two tile types to get there.

I just got the game and have been loving it but there are many more variables to solve this. Some examples are: group size, and random tiles drawn.

  • Very cool! Keep up the hard work, we appreciate it!

  • Thanks for the information! I'll look into it, sorry for my ignorance on the dev, just wasn't aware of it.

  • No worries. I try to stay informed but there are to many projects to keep up. Keep us updated on the progress if you can, but an individual dev might lack the manpower for such an endeavor. All the best thought, am always happy to see any foss projects moving forward!

  • Neither your post or the link for the fundraising even says what the project is or what it does. I assume it's a foss browser or Operating system (maybe), but there is a lack of information upfront. I could look it up, but as of now I'm not sure why if a simple explanation could be added to either. Firefox is my go-to browser, if this could be a better fork or alternative I'd like to know that before funding any project. Also, 12k seems like a lot more than what is tallied in the costs, but good luck to the dev/project!

  • Deep rock galactic looks like a fun game. I have several friends who play it but haven't had the opportunity to pick it up yet.

  • Hogwarts looks like a fun game that I could play casually overtime. Happy Holidays!!

  • Sure, but I feel like there is still fluctuation and more often than not a varying degree of activity and posts that it makes it hard to stick to just one (identical) community for now. I'm sure it'll settle over time though.
