Yes, please.

  • Yeah it’s definitely not an elegant solution, but it works for now. But I think I will fix it properly at some point, now that I know what the problem is.

  • You were absolutely correct. It was the ribbon cable. But the fault was so small I couldn’t see it with my aging eyes. But under magnification it was quite clear.

  • I am also coming to that conclusion. Which sucks because I have to take out the screen to replace it.

And yes. I’m sure I bought the right one :) I didn’t mention it in the original post, but I was aware of the different models and revisions.

  • Yes the speakers still work. And I can change the volume both in Big Picture mode and Desktop mode with the slider.

I don’t really know what to do in alsamixer to test/change volume input.

xev also doesn’t give any output when pressing the volume buttons.

  • Steam Hardware @sopuli.xyz

No input on volume after disassembly.

  • I’m not sure you need a password to access the shared libraries. Then basically all programs would need a password to run.

Personally I don’t like flatpaks because of the duplication of libraries. But you should do whatever you feel like. Both have merit.

  • I like well ordered man pages.

  • This is basically the argument of Edward Said in ‘Orientalism’. He makes a good argument, so it is worth a read: https://www.jstor.org/stable/42981698

I don’t think he wanted to kill the West though. But maybe the idea of the West.

  • Then go return the call.

  • Gee! I hope it works this time!

  • Doesn’t work for YT, since they host their own ads.

  • Mainly groceries. Games I almost exclusively buy second hand and media I… find…

  • This seems like it would create a lot of unnecessary latency and dependency on big tech. He should set up a home server and host his own ram.

  • Jizziz I hope the Parliament won't play along.
