I feel "guess it's free" is soooo overused, I feel like it grates on cashiers nerves, beyond a good groaner, so instead I say "aw crap, does this mean it's triple price?"
Oh, trust me, I know. My mornin walk to work has plenty of stretches where I am in the middle of a, thankfully not too busy at the time, road, but still, faced with a 45 minute drive or a 55 minute walk on the road, imma inconvenience others and play on the fact that no one wants to hit the 6' guy in a kilt as much as I can. Far from perfect, and I have to keep me head on a swivel, but yeah
In the middle of the street? Sure. But best part of Lambofeeties is their ability to go places cars typically can't, like the sidewalk or the side of the road
Even if you're playing solo, the game has fostered an amazing community. Because of this, there are tons of bases in random systems that will have all sorts of things your fellow travelers have found. Crashed ships, resource farms, super rad things that are jus cool to look at, all sorts of stuff. When I go to a new system, I fly to the space station to tag it and check the teleporter to see if there are any interesting other bases in the area. Works for expeditions too.
It sounds like you got it sorted, but I would also advocate for the Neutron Cannon, with P-Field uprade, as it's my favorite weapon. It fires a shotgun blast of purple energy that has some AOE and uses carbon for ammo. It's also good for salvage scrap due to the AOE, 2 shots will take out all the appendages as long as you hit one of them, the center thing takes a few more and is honestly easier with the mining laser, but yeah
If you find a portal on a planet, which you can find with alien maps from space stations, you can use at least 1 glyph to get all of them if you use the right coordinates, which xaine was nice enough to put on his site
He also had a tendency to be a "that guy" and either jump in on other people's scenes or take them over, like using telekinesis on Laura's arrow that was getting the killing blow to give it more oomph, even though it was already a kill shot, or having a list of 17 things he wanted to do/look for in town. Hed also got upset when he couldn't be super amazing badass like not being able to meta magic multiple leveled spells in a turn or how the mending catrip wasn't able to repair the flying carpet into a magic item again as opposed to jus a carpet.
It definitely is too small to fit them, I think my original idea was to move the guts to my old case, but the shape of the mb changes that. Though I could probably jus use the old hdd cages for that anyway, maybe even plop the thing in whole and wire the HDDs outside the m710q an into the cage like normal. May look a lil janky, but if it works thas what works for me, though I would still have to power the drives
