Just so you know, as an inductor is just a small coil of copper, the resistivity might be low enough to trigger the beeping on the multimeter! So maybe it's not dead.
I've seen a lot of burned down inductor and trust me it looks way worse.
If your multimeter can measure resistance in miliHoms, you should be able to measure at least ~10mR or more (that order of magnitude)
Note that measuring a circuit like so is not guaranteed since there's other stuff on a PCB that gets measured at the same time.
Did you remove the motherboard and looked at the other side?
For Steam games, you need to go in the settings and activate the Proton compatibility layer: Steam -> Settings -> Compatibility -> Enable Steam Play for all other titles.
It's still on and will close at the end of the month.
But yes I'm very annoyed that they didn't share much of the instance outside a small notification on the admin.ch website.
But the goal of this whole pilot test is that if Mastodon became big within the year, they would already have an instance running with officials accounts. But instead I guess they will focus on Bluesky.
For the mods at least, the dev interview at PAX clearly had a moment when one guy said "the possibilities of combination with civilizations switching is going to be higher, especially with the modding community adding custom civs.
But since they said a huge part of the playerbase is console, I'm guessing mods won't be using the steam workshop but the launcher so that consoles can have mods...
As for Linux support yeah I would like to hope, maybe the stats of Civ6 on the steamdeck could push them to make it compatible but if they have denuvo I doubt it...
I still enjoy a game of Planetary Annihilation every other time, might not float your boat if you're looking for a much more classic RTS. But smashing moons to the enemy's base has never felt so awesome.
Can they add an option to show roads with more twist for us riding a motorbike? I'd love to road trip without having to look too closely at the map for nice roads.
No eye-tracking, but Foveated rendering on compatible games... I wonder if that's criptics for "we have an API but we won't share it and keep it for our own games".
Well that or the PSVR2 system actually has a low quality frame generated, and the headset adds details with AI on the viewed zone... 🤔
Yup looking at the components around and the layout, it does look like a quartz crystal, especially considering it's right next to the microcontroller, and the 2 beige components above are the matching capacitors.
But yeah I've never seen a package with an open window. Maybe it's an ultra high precision that has been tuned with lasers (usually done for patch antennas).
Maybe the whole bronze age civilizations collapse is because everyone was sourcing copper from ea-nasir!
